  1. Here to second this. Pretty unfortunate bug. CleanShot 2023-05-28 at 08.44.25.mp4
  2. +1 As @cinemachine pointed out, Affinity apps are the outlier here. It would be nice to customize the modifiers to match AI, PS, Sketch, Figma, etc. I'd also like a more consistent approach to constraining proportions. I shouldn't have to think about whether I'm grabbing a side or corner handle (and thus whether I have to shift-constrain or not); I just wanna grab whichever's closest. Consistency means I can work off muscle memory which means I can work faster.
  3. Anyone else seeing this? 1. Draw Ellipse 2. Apply a radial gradient overlay. 3. Attempt to Scale Y Expected: Gradient scales as it does in the Layer Effects preview Results: Scale Y does nothing.
  4. +1 Toggling quickly between layers is super helpful for documents with lots of overlapping layers. Please consider it.
  5. I can understand (a little) if I try to think like a robot. But to me, a human, it's as simple as "what you see is what you (should) get." I never would have predicted AD's output in this case.
  6. (Facepalm emoji) Seems like this shouldn't matter but I clearly have a different mental model than AD. Thanks.
  7. Incredibly generous offer, but I'm looking to be "taught how to fish" so I can handle this myself in the future. Cheers though!
  8. See attached for something I made quick in Sketch using the "union" function on two overlapping shapes. Unfortunately the illustration was supplied by the client and I no longer subscribe to AI. Thanks, Jeff Combined Shape2.eps
  9. Why does AD import "complex" shapes like this, with a solid rectangle masked in a custom shape? And is there a way to mass-unmask? My imported illustration (AI) has dozens of layers that imported like this (it would be insane to manually fix all of them) and it's preventing me from full-vector re-export. Is there a workaround for this?
  10. When I have a layer selected I'd like to be able to click+drag to simultaneously select and move a different layer. Currently select and move have to be separate actions. Thanks for considering it.
  11. This is happening to me as well, and find it unintuitive and tedious to work around. +1 for improvements to this function.
  12. I think command+clicking a compound shape should select the entire compound shape rather than an individual curve. In other words, I think there should be a one-click solution to selecting a compound path that doesn't require the layer panel. Thanks for considering it.
  13. Agree. I want my hotkey to function the same every time. Don't punish me for hitting V while unknowingly already on the Move tool. Same with escaping the text tool. I just wanna hit "esc" once and be done with it. I don't wanna have to be aware of the text-selection status.
  14. Agree, this is a problem to be solved. The layer palette should be a last resort.
  15. I think the left and right studio panels should be scrollable, rather than adaptive to application height. The current expand/collapse-panel behavior is jumpy and requires too much precision. When you expand a tool, another collapses, making it hard to predict where a tool will be based on context (or where it'll jump when you open it). Then to reopen the newly collapsed panel you have to find and click a tiny hit target. It would be more efficient if panels stacked in a scrollable panel. Tools could remain expanded, exactly where you left them, at most a flick away. We've already lost far too many clicks! This would also address my concerns here: Thanks for considering this!
  16. Nice! Thanks for the tip. It would be great if we could speed up the "select layers" step. E.g., in Sketch, keying "enter" on a compound shape is the equivalent of selecting AD layers, but much faster.
  17. And to be clear, this is a 2-minute redesign that's pretty ill considered. Basically I just want to maximize my "studio" space.
  18. I do. I'm arguing that even the collapsed menus take up too much space.
  19. I'd like a more compact character studio so I can fit more controls on screen. One idea is to tuck all the advanced typography functions into a single drawer. Thanks for considering it!
  20. I would like to marquee-select nodes from all paths that comprise my compound shape. It seems I'm currently limited to the destructive "convert to curves" function if I want to achieve this. Thanks for considering it.
  21. Agree. It's always two extra clicks to get to Document Swatches.
