  1. Hi @Kimo, You don't say which OS or App your using? Also need to know what version of each. For Windows: Press and hold down the Control key, then launch the Affinity App. You should see the Clear User Data dialog. There's 2 sections, just pay attention to the top one. The top 3 options are checked by default. The Fourth is the Disable Hardware Acceleration. Check the box to it's left. Press the Clear button in the bottom right. The Affinity App should continue to start.
  2. Hi and welcome to the forums I'm not a Mac user, however doing a simple internet search provides numerous suggestions. How to Uninstall Apps on Mac
  3. What I discovered with my old Wacom Intuos 3, is so long as I'm using a Paintbrush, I can use the eraser end to erase. No need to change to the Eraser tool. However when trying to use it with Masks, it doesn't work. I run into the same problem as @Mike617. For the Eraser end of the pen to work as an Eraser; It needs to be set in the Pen/Tablet Properties to Erase Need to be painting/brushing on a Empty Pixel Layer Erasing on a Pixel (picture, image) will erase the pixels. Using it on a Mask it will do the same as Painting with a Black (or White) brush I don't know if it's by design or a bug.
  4. Yes that's correct. That is for you to decide. Do you want to have little input on your images' appearance? Do the Exposure Bias, Tone Curve adjust the image to what you recall that to be? Do you prefer the image to be personalized, sort of artsy? Experiment with the settings in the Develop Assistant. See how each affects your images. They do provide a good starting point. What I do, and I've shot and processed thousands of images in various post-processing programs, use the Develop Persona to get the most data from RAW files. Which means pushing the Black & White points. In AP that's the Brightness, and Black Point, adjust White Balance (if necessary), the Shadows and Highlights. I use the Scopes a lot and the Histogram to see if what I'm adjusting & seeing is what those are showing. Lens and Detail are the last adjustments I might apply. The Lens mainly to correct distortions, and remove the Chromatic Aberration and Defringe. Again these settings are what you want to occur...
  5. Welcome to the forums What File Settings do you have? Should be Selection Only. Also it helps to have the Document color setting to Transparent Background.
  6. It might be, I've always had Take No Action set. I do know the Noise Reduction is set to Apply Color Reduction, by default.
  7. Thanks for clarifying. Pressing the ALT key, I think is another default we can not change, used along with the brush tool, allows sampling colors. I don't think Serif will change this behavior. IIRC, many use this in their workflow.
  8. Welcome to the forums That is by design. Affinity Photo will not apply any Tone Curve, Noise Reduction, or Exposure Bias, unless you tell it to. This is done in the Develop Assistant. Click the icon in the top toolbar that looks like a television or alien. If you're in the Photo Persona, there's a button for the Develop Assistant in the bottom-left. On-Line Help-Developing a Raw Image Scroll down, there's a section for the Develop Assistant
  9. @Graphite Addict, I can not replicate this issue. I'm using a Windows 10 PC, AD 2.4 What OS are you using?. What Version of AD? Do you have any other tool selected when this happens? Are you wanting the Move (V) arrow tool or the View (H) hand tool? The Spacebar is the hardwired default for the View/Hand tool.
  10. If you're meaning the Right-Click menu of Windows File Explorer, Open With..., that's the way it's been for a long time. It's the same for Windows 10. It allows single file selection, any more and you just get the Open command. Serif has nothing to do with that, it's a Windows thing.
  11. I think there is a bug, but it's not exactly what Alex_M is reporting. Apply the HSL Adjustment layer Use the Picker to select a color/hue Make what ever adjustments you want Close the HSL dialog Notice that the cross-hair cursor is still visible. Click-drag on image, the color/hue still changes, even though you have closed the dialog. I think that's the real bug, the picker is not being released once the dialog is closed.
  12. I think it's by design, to close/accept whatever adjustment, filter dialog first. If you want to leave the dialog open, then use one of the workarounds I suggest in my previous post.
  13. @Alex_M, Are you closing/accepting the adjustment dialog before trying to de-select? You must close it first, then de-select. Works for me..
  14. @Alex_M, This works fine for me. So long as I close the Live Filter or Adjustment. Leaving the dialog up (open) will cause what you're seeing. I think that is not a bug, it's by design. Why? Because the dialog window has the focus, and until one of the buttons on it, or the X (windows) in the upper-right, is selected, it will retain the focus. So CTL + Z after closing/accepting the filter or adjustment, will undo.
  15. I can see what @Alex_M is reporting. In V1 just pressing the spacebar activates the Hand Tool so you can pan. However in V2 you can't. Pressing the space bar does not. HOWEVER I found that if you click on the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the viewer OR use the Navigator, the Hand/Pan tool is activated, (and this is the key), the dialog for the Live Filter is not closed. EDITED: Ok it is possible for the spacebar to activate the Hand/Pan tool. However you must be clear of the Live Filter Dialog window. So do not press the spacebar until your cursor is away from the dialog window. Ok, well there's something going on with the cursor sticking from the dialog window. It happens on some other Live Filters, like Gaussian Blur. The cursor changes, there's a small bar beneath it. This allows dragging on the image to change the sliders. Sometimes pressing the spacebar behaves correctly, others it does not.
  16. @Update Failure, Welcome to the forums You're not the first to report having problems with downloading. Where (generally) are you located? I know here in the US, we've been having problems with Cyber attacks, that have shut AT&T down for thousands for up to a day. Social media platforms (Beta), FB, Messenger suddenly went offline. They think we're dumb and don't know what they're doing. You are aware that Serif uses Amazon Web Services to host their download files. It could be that Amazon is experiencing problems, or somewhere between you and them..
  17. I think Serif is not the problem, but somewhere between you and Amazon Web Services. It might not be Amazon, but some point that your internet is routed through. I know last week there was an issue where FB, and some other social media suddenly went down. Just like flipping a switch. MHO, wasn't accidental. Also AT&T outage affecting tens of thousands for over 12 hrs. (Cyber Attack) Amazon Web Services Live Status
  18. Welcome to the forums Not sure what you mean access? How to launch it once installed? How to download it from your Serif account? You need to be more specific and detailed with your questions, AND you need to provide information on what OS and OS Version you're using.
  19. How were you trying to insert your photo? Did you use a Picture Frame, then use the Place Command? This seems to work for me. Doing so, you have adjustment handles, arrows allowing for resize, moving the image within the frame.
  20. Welcome to the forums @alyamaisarah_d, Looks like all the Templates Presets are missing, and the Create button is greyed out. Could you try doing the Control Run up? Press and hold the CTL key while launching Designer. The Clear User Data dialog will show in front of the splash screen. The top three choices are selected by default. Leave those and press the Clear Button on the bottom right. Designer should continue to launch, and hopefully should work for you now. Another thought; Have you tried restarting Windows since you installed Designer? Years ago that was a requirement after installing software. You might try it. Corrected error.
  21. Humm, I wonder if this is because Adobe created the PDF format...🤔 Have you applied any effects to the text? The Effects will cause it to be rasterized. What??? 🤨 What does that mean? Maybe the object should move out of the way..🤣
  22. So users need to go through all the brushes and change them? Users should not need to do that. Do you understand the issue that Return posted, the setting is Sticky. Yes they are very sticky. If you use a brush with Wet Edges and say a few days go by before you again are using AP, and need to grab a brush, say for masking. You do not want Wet Edges. Well, too bad, it's going to be there. Yes, I, you and a lot of us know what that looks like so we can quickly and easily fix it. Every time a brush that uses Wet Edges, it will remain there, even when a brush is used, that does not, IF that brushes settings are Don't Set Wet Edges. That is what I think should be looked at. In fact if they just done away with the Don't Set, so there's just the 2, perhaps every time a brush is selected that doesn't it would shut off the wet edges.
