  1. Wow, very impressed with vector magic, just installed on iPad and it gives the best vector conversion I have seen to date !
  2. Quick and dirty way is to use Affinity Photo and erase white paper. Since you want it as a vector then you would need to trace it pass it into a software with autotrace.
  3. I almost cracked it using the shapebuilder tool on Ron's filled shapes, then removed the fill. Just needed to take more care on the bottom section.
  4. Why don't you just try it, it is a free download for 30 days for all platforms including iPad from the App Store.
  5. Dunno, can you replicate it as I have never been able to, partial screen recordings hasn't help and requests for example files has fell on deaf ears. If you can replicate it please upload your affinity file and a full screen recording of how you got to the possible defect.
  6. Try Duplicate Selection first and select that layer end export selection or Why don’t you use the Export Persona and export ‘slices’ instead. RPReplay_Final1703133885.mp4 RPReplay_Final1703133179.mp4
  7. You should also be able to use an IOS Shortcut to share from Apple photos directly into the Affinity app of your choosing. Do a search here for IOS shortcut.
  8. If you want to see where your files are simply log in to www.icloud.com on any browser and that is where all your master files and photos are located. Anything on your desktop, PC, Mac, iPad or iPhone are simply downloaded copies of the files in www.icloud.com. They will only be on your devices temporarily if you have Optimise Storage turned on under settings on iOS and macOS devices. If you turn OFF the optimise storage settings then all files and photos will be downloaded onto your device if you have sufficient space. I recommend leaving Optimise Storage normally turned ON when using iOS and macOS devices.
  9. Create your own folder structure in iCloud using the Files app, I use 0-Affinity Photo, 0-Affinity Designer etc. When you press Save on the hamburger icon on the iPad home screen browse to the folder structure and tap save. I also access these same folders from my desktop versions. RPReplay_Final1702882349.mp4
  10. Please can you do a screen recording of what you are doing, make sure your layer panel is open so we can see which layer you are working on. If you don't know how to do a screen recording see here https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ipad/ipaddf78ce08/ipados
  11. I don’t like the term synched, because that may be the way other systems like dropbox or onedrive works but it certainly isn’t the way iCloud works. The Affinity apps hold files local in an internal sandbox so they are never uploaded to iCloud, which is why I always tell people to always save your work in an iCloud folder location and close(remove) from the affinity home screen. I still hope by V3 they will have removed the internal sandbox and replaced with recent files history just like the desktop versions.
  12. The important thing to remember is iCloud is not a a backup service although confusingly it can hold backups of your devices. It is the MASTER location for your files and any files on your devices are simply downloaded(or not) copies of your master file. With optimise storage turned on, rarely used photos or files are removed from your devices and a lower resolution photo or an iCloud link remains to allow you to re-download your file or high resolution image on demand. Keep your files in iCloud Drive in a folder structure you create, do not store anything in the OnMyiPad area as that is not held in iCloud and just takes up storage space unnecessarily. You should then never really run out of device space once you use iCloud unless of course you run out of iCloud space. Subscribing to more iCloud space is a lot cheaper than having to upgrade your device prematurely and is a lot more secure.
  13. Unfortunately this feature is for desktop version only, see this link for list of new features and check which platform has each feature. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/whats-new/?utm_source=designer2_ios&utm_medium=App&utm_campaign=whats-new I use ^J power duplicate but use the iPad Pro smart keyboard to do so.
  14. Looks as though you have "use fill" selected on the context toolbar when using the pen tool. Note, this is the wrong section to post questions in.
  15. No and since there is no support in Affinity for the hover feature it doesn’t matter. Maybe in a year or two hover may be added although I don’t see much demand for the feature so it may never be added.
  16. Apple Pencil hover is only available on iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th generation) with Apple Pencil (2nd generation).
  17. Adding to Walt's comments, although Apple Photos supports Adobe PSD import, unfortunately Apple Photos does not support Affinity .afphoto files. There is nothing Serif can do about that, only Apple. You can of course export from Affinity as PSD files if you want to do that. My way of working is to select an image in Apple Photos, then select edit in Affinity Photo. Perform your edits and then select save, you may be prompted to save flattened, if you do that it will save back into Apple photos over the original image. Of course with Apple Photos you can always revert an image back to the original before it was edited if you want to redo your work. Sometimes I want to keep my work in progress for continuation at a later date, in such circumstances I would save as .afphoto file and store it in a folder structure I created. Extreme demo of round trip Apple Photos -> Affinity -> Apple Photos then revert image. My project (9).mp4
  18. Watch tutorials on the geometry tools and the Affinity Shapebuilder tool
  19. The only difference between the desktop and iPad versions is that you can only record a single macro on the desktop and therefore you cannot load single .afmacro files on the iPad. Libraries of macros are stored in an .afmacros file and will work identically on desktop AND iPad versions of Affinity Photo or Affinity Publisher (Photo Persona). I am sure all of James macros are downloadable as .afmacros files so will import into the iPad. They are free but I'm sure he would appreciate the cost of a coffee if you find them useful.
  20. The basic shapes are simple to draw, however for realistic shading I found this tutorial excellent.
  21. Maybe try making some vector brushes, they are easy to create and contain whatever repeating elements you need. Some example here. RPReplay_Final1700511996.mp4
  22. You need to change to a V2 tutorial course, too many things changed location from V1 to V2.
  23. This is not how iCloud works. iCloud is not a backup of your files. Files in iCloud are your MASTER files. Anything on your Mac or iPad are downloaded copies of your master file in iCloud. When you reconnect your iPad to Wifi, your modified file (assuming it is in the same location it was opened from) will sync to the master file in iCloud and then it will sync to your copy of the file on your Mac. Any file on the iPad home screen behaves like a file open in a tab on the desktop and will block the updating process from working correctly. Always make sure you save and then close any file open on your Mac before opening on another device like your iPad or a PC or another Mac.
