You’re requesting locking/pinning as a new feature. Why would you expect to find anything about it in the current help pages? :/

I hadn't formally requested any kind of new feature - I was just finding out what might be possible.

I will now request it to the dustbin of 'New Features'.

I don't think you can do that. Using Garry's approach, as long as you don't actually click on node B while adjusting node A, it should not move.

Thanks but I did know that. What I didn't say was if I accidentally clicked on the stroke rather than the node I could move the whole stroke!

I suppose what I'm asking for is a way to superglue the node/end of the stroke to position B on the other stroke. Too much to ask for?

  3. Very sensible reply!

Because I wanted to draw something that wads very small the pixel resolution was not too low. So I checked the document 'Scale' and tried !0:1 and then !:10. I:10 did the trick although it was not exactly what I wanted. At this scale in order to draw a shape 1cm square I had to draw it 10cm square.

What I was looking for was to draw it, using the transform tab, 1cm square but for AD2 to show it at 10cm. This would mean that I would have the higher pixel resolution but drawing using actual real dimensions.

  4. Is it possible to manipulate the Scale feature of AD2 so that if I draw a 1cm the image on the screen it is actually 10cm? My problem is that there are times when the pixel resolution is too small for accurately placing guides and snapping very small measurements.

Using a scale of 1:10 AD2 shows 1cm as 10cm and also shows in the Transform Tab 10cm. Is this possible instead of it showing 10cm it shows as 1cm?

This way I could draw shapes using my real dimensions but AD2 drawing it 10 times larger.

  5. Since, over the years AD has been published, I have made many attempts to get Serif to stop bounding box handle from disappearing whilst moving a guide to snap to it. This has not happened  but many AD users have offered all sorts of workarounds including constantly changing snapping settings. I have just discovered a very simple way to get round the problem for me and the way I use AD. I'm only ever interested in the mid-points in rectangles and ellipses. What I do now is click on the 'Transform origin' button and it remains visible when moving a guide. So now I know that the guide is now located on a mid-point where I can click to insert a node. Job done.

However I would prefer that they didn't disappear in the first place!

  6. I'm 84 and I sold all my acrylc painting equipment and thought I would go digital. So I bought a an X-Pen and I plan on using 'Artrage'.

I haven't actually started to use it yet as I have a number of other projects that I need to finish first. I'm hoping that I don't have too much of a learning curve to go through as at my age I want to see a decent result before I kick the bucket!

Thanks for very much for taking the trouble to help me out in this way.

I could disconnect the 2nd monitor and set up my pallets ect on the main monitor and open up Quick FX. Having done that I could then reconnect my 2nd monitor and drag everything over onto it and see what happens to Quick FX.

That's an already known problem (bug) under macOS with a two monitor setup. Tryout if using "Zoom in/out ... etc." might also in your case then resize things again accordingly.

LOL I changed my 2nd monitor to 'Mirror' my main monitor and all the pallets and tabs appeared on my main monitor. I then was able to load Quick FX which when it appeared was way higher up the screen than all the others. I dragged it down to line up with the others. Next I removed the 'Mirror' setting and dragged everything back to the 2nd monitor. Everything is now OK.

The original problem with Quick FX was that it was too high up the screen and therefore impossible to move. Was this the reported bug?

I don't currently have access to 2nd monitor but i will tomorrow when i'm back in the office, so i'll get the same setup going and be able to help further :)  Of course, someone else might be able to help resolve this before then.  But it is the issue i think it is, i'd of expected Zooming to resolve it, so this might be slightly different.

  9. Yes I did try View>Zoom>Zoom in but all it did was to enlarge my main monitor. All my pallets and tabs are on the 2nd monitor.

I tried dragging my pallets and tabs onto the main monitor and then selecting Quick FX and it partially appeared but only on my 2nd monitor. I can't get it onto my main monitor.

Thanks for that Alfred. I don't know what you mean about 'zooming in\out'. Can you explain please?
