  1. Hi Lee D. Thank you for your answer. That is where I made a mistake. The document was only automatically saved internally. Not to a specified location. So when I closed the document it was gone because I forgot to save it to this specified location. I learned from my mistake. But perhaps a feature for the iPad app could be developed so that the document is automatically saved to a prespecified location. Kind regards
  2. Okay. I just lost some detailed work when I closed a document in Affinity Designer on the Ipad. Apparently, I never saved it and when I closed the document it was gone. It is not your fault. I should have saved it. But as I worked on it for many hours over several days I just forgot because I thought I already saved the latest version. But when the doc is open in the app and you do not save it, it is not automatically saved (as far as I know). What about an automatic saving feature? So when you open a new document in Affinity Designer (iPad version) it will be automatically saved when this feature is enabled when e.g. the app is closed and/ or after X minutes. Thank you.
  3. That was a fun test. On my iMac Pro (Xeon W 3.2Ghz base 8-core/ 16 threads, 32GB RAM, Radeon Vega Pro 56 8GB) the file opened fairly quickly. It was responsive, and obviously very snappy when the dot-gradient layer was unselected. Zooming in was okay, bit sluggish. I went to 11754943.0%. Whilst zooming in Affinity Designer used around 35 threads (CPU tab in Activity Monitor) and consumed around 2GB RAM. The machine remained quiet and cool. Though I was not able to select one of the single dots in the dot-gradient layer. Ps: I wanted to share a screenshot of the zoomed in file at 11754943.0%. But got a -200 error from the website.
  4. Hi @MEB That would be a really nice feature to rearrange by hand on the iPad versions and in some other intuitive way on the desktop versions. I have some more suggestions for iPad/ desktop versions. Should collect them and send them over to Affinity. Kind regards, Bastiaan
  5. Sounds like the transparency tool from AD which is ‘missing’ in AP.
  6. You can reset brushes individually. Just select brush and keep selecting it. Then a window will appear with options like reset. But fully agree to have a feature which allows to reset all brushes.
  7. Hi Affinity By Serif, I'm using Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer. I noticed that once I have imported new brushes, I cannot re-order brush categories or sort the brush categories by name. The most recent imported brushes are at the bottom of the scroll down menu in the brushes panel. Would it be possible to add such an ordering or sorting feature so that users can actually order the brush categories according to their own preferences? < I could not find such a feature/ functionality in Photo or Designer. > Would be nice. With kind regards, Bastiaan
  8. A while ago I posted above questions. Well, it is clear for me. There are vector and raster brushes available. The vector brushes are available in the draw persona and the raster brushes in the pixel persona. In each persona you can import both type of brushes. Once imported you can only use them in the specific persona. I saw that some people have trouble with importing brushes. Until now I did not have problems importing Adobe or Affinity brushes.
  9. Hi all, Small question on brushes. In Affinity Designer we have the option to work with vector and raster brushes. We can also import brushes. I noticed that when I imported "DAUB | Comics Basic Set.afbrushes" in vector mode ("draw persona"), this set was not available, but is available in the raster mode ("pixel persona"). So, from this I conclude that *.abr or *.afbrushes are vector or raster specific. Is that a correct conclusion? Is there a possibility to use the same set of brushes in both vector and raster mode? Hope my questions are clear. O

  11. Learning more and more about Affinity Photo and Designer. Great software!

  12. Hi Fixx, Thank you for your reply and confirming what I was actually thinking. After posting my question, I have purchased Affinity Designer where I saw similar behaviour, except when I used the vector brush. By using the vector brush (which is not available in Affinity Photo) and 'painting' onto a layer I was able to control to global colour. Meanwhile I have also read a bit on vector art versus pixel art. By doing so I also think that I understand why global colour is a vector concept and not generally used in pixel graphics. Looking again at Affinity Photo Help, I actually see that the part on global colour is part of the section titled "Vector specific". :-| Learnt quite a lot from such probably simple question...
  13. Hi all, First of all, I'm a big fan of Affinity Photo. Used Pixelmator before (respect for the developers). But Affinity Photo really brings photo editing forward. I love the non-destructive way of live and adjustment layers. But there is so much more. Now my question. Currently playing around with global colours in Affinity Photo. Affinity Photo help mentions in the "Global colours" section that "The global colour could be applied as a solid fill, stroke, or a colour used in the gradient fill." This section also specifies two ways of setting global colours: 1. "To create a global colour from an existing object"; and 2. "To create a global colour from scratch". I did both in attached sample. I set red by following 1., taking the colour of one of the red "curve layers", and blue by 2. In attached sample, you see 5 layers. Two layers with blue objects (one pixel generated with a brush and one curve generated with the pen tool); and three layers with red objects (one pixel generated with a brush and two curves generated with a pen tool). All objects coloured with global colours. Now, when I select one of the global colours in the Swatches panel -> select -> right click -> edit fill -> change colour, only the colour(s) of the curve layers change and not the pixel layer. Why? As I would expect that the pixel layer, generated by using global colours would also change. Orion test_globalcolor.afphoto
