brianandcamera reacted to Laminosu in Affinity Photo 1.5 - simplest RAW format to create
From a special cam I have sensor buffer data in bayer 12 bit format.

To work with Affinity on these images I'd like to convert my data into the simplest raw format that's supported.

My question:  Which of these formats
    https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/4630-supported-develop-raw-cameras/

would you recommend for that, which is the simplest to create? (and documented of course...)

Have independently looked at DNG, but thats also much effort to create, don't want to use a tool set, simply want to write the format!

Note: can supply the sensor-specific color matrix if that is required for the format.

    Thanks,
    Laminosu

There's 0 way to make a jpeg/png raw - that data has already been lost.

However, I think what you are looking for is the photoshop .raw format - I'm assuming affinity doesn't have that. PSRaw is essentially just an array of integers, I am sure they could add it if they wanted.

When you are talking to a bunch of photographers, 'raw' is always going to refer to raw camera data. PSRaw is another animal.

Hi David, sounds like you're wanting to export in greyscale RAW16, which Photo doesn't currently support. It can do greyscale 16-bit PNG, does your game engine accept that?

(Which game engine by the way? Unreal engine? Unity?  :) )

Just to clarify, we know what has caused the font slowdown, we just didn't want to delay the release of this beta while we wait for a fix. It will be fixed in the next build.

    Hi all

Thanks for letting us know about these. The Raw engine is constantly being updated. It looks like this could be due to camera profile not being read as well as ongoing support for Sigma cameras but I shall look into this further

    Hi,
I'm using a Sigma SD 15 and when developing the X3F file in Affinity Develop Persona then the colours are all blue greyish with a greenish discolouring. When opened in SIgma SPP there are natural colours.
Why is this so different in Develop Persona?
Link below contains a sample X3F file.

Oh man, if this fixes the SD Quattro problems I've been seeing, I will be a happy photographer!

Now to fix the DP2 Merrill issue(colour cast) I posted and I'm off to the races!

edit: the AF dots are indeed fixed, however, the images from the sd quattro are still looking very muddy/noisy (whereas a TIFF out of spp renders fine in affinity)

Agreed! Great work - slick and usable. In addition the speedy bug fixes look great, I feel it may be only 10-14 days away....
I will be purchasing it immediately!

Well done, Serif Team, stunning work.

    Hi again,

Found the answer in this video:

A default tone adjustment is applied automatically and must be ticked off.

We do read XMP as well, but, I've just looked at this and it seems like there might be a problem reading the data. Hopefully we can get this fixed soon.

Attach your file here as well Brian and I can take a look at that file at the same time.

I tried opening a Canon 20D JPEG file which is in portrait orientation and Afinity opened it in landscape orientation. It seems the EXIF orientation flag is not correctly read at least in some circumstances. Windows explorer, viewer, Adobe and On1 are all good with the file.
