  1. I, too, just stumbled across the fact that APhoto cannot simply export a TGA with an alpha channel that leaves the color channels intact. Please add a way to save TGA and TIFF with a spare channel as alpha, this should do. Thanks!
  2. Thanks, stokerg! Looking forward, since the current behavior doesn't make too much sense, does it.
  3. Hello! Say there's a designer/photo file with some layer states embedded in Publisher. Is it possible in Publisher(!) to choose the layer state of that file? I would have expected the state to show up in the context toolbar of the embedded file, but nope. The idea is to have one designer file with multiple design options, embedded multiple times in Publisher, and toggle the desired state for every occurrance there. Thanks a lot!
  4. Hello! Repro: Create and select 2 or more objects > open the Appearance panel > try to change the blend mode for either stroke or fill to something else than 'Normal'. Nothing happens. Only when just one object is selected can it's fill/stroke blend mode be changed. This is a bit of a problem, because in my case (an architectural site plan) I have a group with 100s of objects for which I want to change the fill blend mode to 'multiply', but leave the stroke blend mode to 'normal'. I'd have to go through each and every object to set the appearance. Any tricks to achieve this without much hassle? Anyway, a fix would be appreciated. After all, the stroke/fill color or stroke width can indeed be changed for many objects at once. Thanks! Edit: copying the appearance with the Style Picker tool helps a bit, but still this is something that should work.
  5. Well, worth a try... =} Doesn't hurt the good people at Serif if we knock on their door again about this feature, wether they answer or not. (Guess I'm used to roam the Rhino 3D discourse forum, where any member has a direct wire to the developers, and even access to the feature/bugtracking website.)
  6. Dear Affinity team! Can we get an official statement if the IDML (InDesign markup language) file format will ever be supported for export from Publisher? 'Ever' like in the next few years... I assume you are aware why this is important in a mixed team with Adobe products. It's great to be able to import from InDesign, but as of now it's a one way ticked. Not being able to export from Publisher to InDesign means the whole team might be forced to use the Affinity suite, if just one member decides to use Publisher. That often results in the decision to not use Publisher at all. It would be desirable to leave the choice to the user, of course. In my book, the Affinity suite in the meantime is on par or superior to the equivalent Adobe programs (disregarded any cloud AI features etc.), but it's super hard to convince our office superiors to switch. If roundtripping would be possible, the matter would be a very different one. Even if IDML might not be fully feature complete compared to the .indd or .afpub formats, it is feature rich enough to work as a common ground. It surely would for our needs. It has been asked before, I know, but I could not find any definite answer to your company policy in this regard. Thanks a lot!
  7. Hello! Is it possible to have the filepath/name of a placed image be shown as a subscript below the image? Thanks!
  8. Hi! Could you please be a little more vague? Is this feature on your radar? Any plans at all?
  9. Hey, good news! So, it is upcoming...
  10. +1 for IDML export from Publisher! I would like to introduce the Affinity suite in our architectural office, which uses Adobe traditionally. It super easy to open existing InDesign booklets in Publisher, but it's a one-way-ticket. That is why I could not convince people fully. Even if the format would not guarantee 100% compatibility, it would be a tremendous help. Thanks!
  11. Hello! 'Boolean Divide' indeed works (which was a nice surprise) - but only when the objects are all closed. However, if you use it on something like this... ... it will not work but delete the lines. So either I'm missing something, or there's still need for a smart fill tool.
  12. Affinity also really needs a plugin interface. If it had, someone would have slapped on that stupid DWG/DXF importer (and exporter, too) in no time. It stinks that affinity has this somewhat hermetic attitude towards features. Saying as a user that advertises it since years, and uses it whenever possible.
  13. Hello MEB! Sorry to say, but that's a ridiculous statement! Who else if not you has a 'direct wire' to the developers/management? This is an important feature, and not too hard to implement. It's there already, actually, but the fact that after isolating an object, any click on the canvas will un-isolate it again renders it useless. Take my word for it - I work with Rhino3D each and every day, which has a good implementation of this. Would go crazy if isolate wasn't working. AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Illustrator, ... they all have this. It doesn't make a difference if it's a 2D or 3D application - same principle. The point of an isolate tool is to be able to work on one or a few objects more easily in a complex document. You see, I love to work with the Affinity products, and use them whenever I can in our architectural office, and advertise it to whomever I can, but things like this are nasty spoilers. You have heard complaints like this maybe a 1000 times because this or that hasn't been implemented yet, but this feature is really ripe for fixing at last after years. Sincere thanks!
  14. Ok, thanks!
  15. AP 1.9.0.820 beta APhoto fast exits when using the crop tool. Repro: create a document (can be empty) > Crop Tool > double click in the crop rectangle. Thanks! Edit: I just saw that it also crashes when using 'Resize Canvas' instead. There's something really broken in that release.
  16. Thanks! It's my architecture diploma. Format A3, about 70 pages, multiple kinds of raster images used (PNG, jpg fotos, APhoto files), also vector sources (PDF, ADesigner files). Sometimes many images/graphics per page, sometimes only one. Latest AP beta.
  17. Hello! A quick question without thorough research (sorry for that): I have a Publisher document with lots of linked images. The file size has grown rather big nonetheless (1,5GB as of now). The whole idea of linked resources/images is to make automatic updates possible, and to keep the file size low - which seems not to be the case, really (automatic updates work, however). Where could the huge size come from? Bug? Embedded preview images or something? Thanks!
  18. +1 Flood Select without anti-aliasing is pretty useless. Thanks!
  19. I'd also opt for a simple way to drag around the bounding box corners freely, like in PShop! And non-destructively, please. Thanks!
  20. Yes, please! Same goes for the Perspective Tool - or any other tool that transforms, bends, warps, whatever, a bitmap layer. I was (negatively) surprised recently when I learned that the Perspective Tool is destructive. That does not fit well in the picture, so to speak. Thanks!
  21. At least someone who gets the point... 😃 Thing is: people usually don't miss what they don't know. Or in other words, we tend to stick what we are used to. SHIFT inverts the selection? Aww, allright, always did... Could it be any different? If there's a situation where this does not get me what I want, I used to click around until I have it selected... so what... Believe me, guys, the moment you are used to clean selection add/subtract, you won't want to miss it anymore. A more general comment: I work both in architecture and as an illustrator. Both fields intermix in many ways, of course. My first and foremost weapon of choice is Rhino. Boy, do they do things like this right! You can 'fly' with that program, if you get what I mean. Reason is that they did their interaction basics right, where it counts - selection / being able to have a mixed selection on component and object level at the same time / snapping /easy command invoking (shortcuts, aliases, icons) / modelling logic / modelling axis / great mix of 2D and 3D / precision / a certain 'dryness' and 'directness' about working in the viewport (ok, I'm drifting...) Anyway, the way they implemented the concept of 'window' and 'crossing' selection (like AD's surround select thing), combined with reliable selection subtract (CTRL) and add (SHIFT) is close to ideal. It's supposed to work like this. Anywhere. Many Autodesk programs do it the same way. 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Revit... What do these CAD programs have to do with illustration? A lot actually. Affinity could learn from them (and vice versa)! I don't understand why the moment it gets 'artsy', software tends to get 'sloppy' in a way, in it's user interaction. Same with Adobe Illustrator, or CorelDraw. Please, developers, think also outside of your box (if you don't already) and take highly developed programs like Rhino etc. as an example for things like selections. (same goes the other way around - Rhino isn't perfect, too, of course, in areas where AD shines). Thanks!!
  22. Thanks from me, too! It's a joy to work with Publisher!
  23. Hello! AD beta 1.8.1.611, Windows Ink active, working with Wacom pen. Steps to reproduce: draw a few different lines, select one with the Node Tool, try to SHIFT-add-select the others. When Windows Ink is turned off in the Wacom control panel, it works as expected. Thanks!
  24. Thank you very much! Keep the good stuff coming..!
