  1. I think most of our students are using MathML. Respectively Matlab, Maple, Mathematica, etc. - I believe the most doesn't know LaTeX anymore. When i have to draft an equation, i'm using the built in "Grapher". It can't be easier. Give it a try. Ohne Titel.pdf
  2. I know there are a lot other construction sites you are working on. But maybe you're thinking about, what could we do in future... So this is just an Idea: "Affinity Cutter" the answer in digital movie cutting. The "Premiere Killer".
  3. As far as i see you've done a really good job with the guides. Thank you guys. ++
  4. I am with you. The Icons can be easily mistaken, because they have exactly the same shape. But i'm not sure if a single letter inside the icon will be the solution. Because the inside of the icons currently differ: Photo has an this iris diaphragm and Designer has a hard to identify pencil. But when the icon in the Dock and has the size of a penny, it doesn't matters what's inside.
  5. +1 Me too. I've set the resize of the brush on the Ö and Ä. But it doesn't work with all tools.
  6. Probably not. Affinity gives the best features - like this - just to Mac-User. ;)
  7. The "new color picker" listed between the great improvements of version 1.5. But what's the noteworthy feature? The icon in the tool palette? I miss the specific improvements. I don't see anything remarkable. You still have to run miles with the mouse to pick some gradients. I don't get it. :(
  8. Oh my... To get the magnifying glas for the picker tool, you don't have to click and drag from the tool icon. You must click and drag from inside the document view. *Facepalm*
  9. Hello Allan. Nope. When i search for color picker i got no result. Because it's not my language. When i search for such terms in my language. I see just a spinning wheel or get a "nothing found". The key "I" does nothing here. Like several others keys. And dragging does also nothing.
  10. I've read there's a "new color picker" (eyedropper) in AD 1.5 (source). That's really great news. ...but i don't see any improvements to that thing. And i can't find more information about it. How to use the new one? What's the hot key? Why there are no details about it?
  11. And after re-positioning: Not that bad. Obviously, Inkscape does it best: it keeps the rounded borders 'live", and applies the ry and rx attributes properly. When importing this to Sketch. Changing position and colors. And exporting as SVG. You get this draw code: It's pretty nondestructive.
  12. Hello Dave. Imagine i'm speaking with the voice of HAL 9000. ;-) Thank you, Dave. This would be helpful. This would be really great. But if have to go back one step to the "drawing a rect is not a benchmark" comment. There seems to be a more fundamental problem. So looking just at the drawing code. When you have a simple rounded rect with a border, like this SVG Object (sample file {hopefully} appended): <rect id="Rect2" stroke="#004488" stroke-width="4" fill="#00AAFF" x="2" y="2" width="120" height="40" rx="8" />When you import it into AfDesigner (v. 1.4.1) everything looks fine. All Parameter are correct. But change the fill color to whatever you want. When you export this single basic object, it will be transformed into a incredible complex paths construction. Result: Try it by yourself.Box flat.svg
  13. I'm still on Version 2.x :) And i see no reason to switch to version 3. I think it is because of the straight and responsive ui. Everything is just one click away. You'll see all options, effects, styles, etc. at any time. And everything happens in live in realtime. So you're getting the result you want very quick. That makes it very efficient. And that was the big mistake made by the competitors. Especially by iDraw. Correct. They focusing on fancy features, but don't fixing the heavy bugs. I looks like there's no more quality control on board. And also the customer support has left the boat. That's the downside and the reason why i didn't upgrade Sketch. ...And i bought Affinity Designer short time later. I'm hoping that Designer can replace Sketch one time.
  14. The color picker is one of the most annoying things. It creates so much friction and headache. Picking 6-7 colors for a gradient turns anyone into an angry hulk... *Rrrr* Ideally there should be one permanently available color picker, that appears at any time when holding one single hot key. It should works for any tool and mode at any time. When picking a color it sets the color instantly and direct (without zigzag click and dragging) to 1.) the front paint color, 2.) when a gradient point is selected the selected gradient point color, 3.) when the last click was on the fill color of an object it set these fill color, and 4.) when the last selection was on the contour color, then it sets the contour color, etc. When the last action was drawing an object, then it sets the color of that object, etc, etc. - You see the pattern. - It set the paint color. And when an object was selected it sets the main (mostly fill) color of the active object. When the last click was on an different color attribute (outline, gradient point) then it set this. So it sets the color of the last activated thing. Plus the paint color. It's the fall back when nothing is active or selected. And i've picked the color before i wanted to create something new. Let's call it the global smart instant color picker. (...from outer space) But the current color picker is a no-go.
  15. It would be totally adequate to get the distances between only two objects. Anything else is nice to have, but not essential for survival.
