Thanks! I have corrected it, the word, not the icon! -

Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.6 - Beta 1)
m-b replied to Andy Somerfield's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
Better no Beta 2, I'm waiting for the 1.6 Final! ;) -
By the way, the new grey/blue icon theme for the iPad Version looks really nice and clear. I hope that will be integrated into the desktop versions later, to see more optical equality.

First of all, many thanks for the new Light-UI - it helps much! I don't use it only under daylight conditions, it depends even on a picture, how bright it is. With the Light-UI and setting the Background Grey Level up, it is much more pleasant to work. But to change these settings individual for a picture it is less intuitiv to go every time to Preferences and chose the User Interface for a modification. My simple idea and a big wish: Please make a placeable Icon for the Menubar which allows you to switch between Light & Dark with only one click. The arrow on the right side allows you to change the Background Grey Level with a simple fader like in the Preferences/User Interface. Isn't that much more user-friendly? : )

Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.6 - Beta 1)

AP & AD are definitely not toys, this is kind of ridiculous. I worked so many years with adobe products and affinity's software is simply outstanding for this price. Don't forget how many customers are satisfied about this great product. Sure, there are always many things to improve, but this is a small company and what they have done so far deserves a lot of respect! -
I worked with Bridge for years but now I use XnView MP. Since the last update V0.84 XnView supports thumbnail preview for Affinity Photo & Designer. This is a really great and fast picture browser and it's complete free for private use.

On my sample picture I use a normal Point-Lighting. The red ellipse shows how it could be. A circle which you can stretch to a ellipse, with a perspective shape would be bit more flexible for some situations.

Empty space between the tools!

Maybe this is one problem. If I undock the tools I can't see all icons. Only a docked tools show me the separator. Using the latest AP Version unter macOS 10.12.2. Hint: You can dock/undock tools by doubleclicking the name upper the icons or the free space under the icons in docked mode. Using two separate lines should give you enough space between the icons. -

multi Add a Lighter/Brighter UI-mode (implemented)

It was meant more ironically. The function looks relatively finished. Time to roll it out as soon as possible. Till 1.6 it probably takes another year. ; ) -

Most will have no major problems with it. But the question is, what is better and more comfortable to work at bright daylight conditions? I think all these posts give a clear answer. And a question to the moderators. Can we expect any improvements in the near future? There is no clear answer to this old issue and I can't see anything in the future roadmaps that fix this circumstances. Is there a reason, why such an important function is given so little attention? -
I use XnViewMP - it is free and great and it supports also AD-Thumbnail-Preview in the upcoming Version 0.84. AP-Preview is already supported. This tool is gorgeous and you can customize the UI to your own taste. Best Funktion for me, you can compare up to four Photos side by side. This is very helpful for sorting out pictures. And the best, it is much faster than Bridge with very large folders. I love it!

Thanks to You, but I'm not so pleased to test non-verified apps from the Internet.

Don't have a Macbook, but it would be interesting which functions the TouchBar got?

Oh, this wish is over two years old... I really like the dark UI, especially when I work at the evening in low light situations. But I must also admit, that in bright daylight condition a light grey UI is far better and homogenic to the eyes. It would be really helpful if the gamma could be set to a much brighter UI, where the caption goes from white to black. This is just a color reversal snapshot, only to show how 'smooth' black text on light grey is. It should be easy to implement this feature. +1 from me too :) -
...and how do you think about this option, that we can place the toolbar also above? Adobe didn't give this feature! ; ) Your opinions?
-
Am I the only one who wants this? It would be also nice to safe and export different workspaces.
-
Please give us the option to lock the toolbar on the right side and put the color picker even in the 1-row view. Thanks! : )
