  1. I have just posted a feature request to this effect.
I don't have much hope that it will be addressed, seeing as of late feature requests and
other ligitimate reporting of improper functioning is being disregarded.

To me, it looks like things have rather grown beyond development capacity.

Which would be a real pity, because I always was under the impression that Serif
was one of the few softwre companies that actually recognized they had real people
as customers instead of money cows.

  2. Is there a limit to the number of colors when creating my own palette ?

I have imported a palette meant for PS, with a huge number of colors.

    It works fine, see attachment.

Yet, when I try to create my own the number of colors seems to be limited to 256 when using any method of creating,

e.g. from document, from image, it just never gets beyond 256 colors.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this ?

Importing a "grd" file also seems impossible ?

  3. Photo 1.9.1. crashes instantaneously when : >Acquire Image > Pick "Color mode" > Determine scan area > Press "Scan" Button.
    B&W mode works OK.

  4. I've had the same happening with the Update page in the app store : totally blank, while I knew for certain
that there were updates. Going to the store itself and back to update page again brought up the updates, but
I haven't been able to find the update button on the store page.
Where/how exactly did you find it ?

BTW: It seems that, according to posts in the macrumors forum (link) that there is a blip with an Apple server,
as well as (or in combination with) a Security update for Mojave 10.14.6.
Apple does not recognize this (??).

    Echoes of Microsoft  behaviour  .....

  5. Please see the other posts on this topic.

The trick with killing the appstoreagent does work, but you have to FORCE-kill it while the update process is running.

Go to Applications > Utilities > Activity monitor > start activity monitor.

Go to the app store  > log in.
Click the update button for the application you want to update.
In case of more than 1 update, click "update All".
    Update icon starts spinning.

    Go back to Activity monitor
    Find the appstoreagent process
    Force-kill the appstoreagent process.When it's gone,
    Go back to the Appstore
Click the update button again (it's still spinning, but click it anyway).

This is a workaround solution, NOT a permanent fix.

When updating again, you'll have to shutdown the computer, start again and do the whole process again.

  7. Created a new document, placed a vectorized SVG file. It ends up in the document as an Embedded Document without nodes in 1.9.0.

It cannot be modified with the node tool, because there are no nodes - it is just a picture. In v.1.8.X it used to end up as a vector drawing (with loads of nodes).

I used Vectorizer to vectorize the original (JPG). In that program the preview shows up vectorized as usual, with nodes.

In short, placing vectorized always worked fine, now it no longer does.

Is this a bug or if not, are there any settings I have to change in Aff.Des. ?

    Thanks, C.L.

  8. @walt.farrell  :

Thanks, Walt. I tried the New Category method but no joy.
I looked up the Assets.propcol file for Des. and for Photo.
They are an astonishing 2.22Gb and 2.57Gb in size, resp.

The downloaded assets are available in Photo, so I swapped the Photo propcol for the Des file.
As i suspected, Designer crashed spectacularly, not even the "Reopen" button on the crashreport did the job.

Back to the drawing board I guess....

    @R C-R  : Thank you for that !
