  1. There isn't an option right now for a light UI on the iPad. There is a feature request thread here.
  2. Yes, I agree. There were requests for this with the desktop apps and it was added later. I think that the option to have a light option should have been carried over when the iPad apps came out.
  3. What does it say? I had a similar issue, but going to the product page it said "Install" and selecting that allowed me to update.
  4. I've now purchased for iPad. (after Photo and the desktop apps) My request for both Designer and Photo on iPad is to make the Help documentation accessible from documents. I find it limiting to simply have it from the home screen.
  5. I had the same issue. It didn't show on the updates page and instead showed "Install" for Photo and Designer on the "Purchased" page. Selecting that worked for me, but not how I expect the Mac App Store to work.
  6. I also think that it would be good to see sub-forums and that the divisions used in the Feature Request forums could be used. There may be commonality, but there are major differences as each program serves a different purpose.
  7. In the top corner there is a + button for opening and importing files. You can then access the select from Files by choosing iCloud.
  8. Also on a Mac I find if it is verified in an Administrator account as opposed to a Standard account can make a difference too.
  9. I don’t see an option for a light UI. It would be helpful to have that as currently I find it hard to make out the icons. I think they were made smaller so that doesn’t help either. I’m using a 9.7” iPad.
  10. A non-destructive layer is listed on their roadmap, so it should come sometime.
  11. For the iPad updates would come through the App Store.
  12. The original RAW files aren't changed. After selecting the develop persona and are in the Photo persona you can work on the photo and save in the Affinity Photo format or another graphics format. Currently the operations in the develop persona aren't non-destructive, but that means you can't go back after you have processed the image, but that doesn't affect the original image. A non-destructive develop persona is listed on the roadmap for the program.
  13. If you are using macOS High Sierra or newer there is an Edit With option in Photos. Affinity also has several Photos extensions, including one for editing in Affinity Photo.
  14. If you look in the tutorials forum there is a thread showing the Affinity videos categorized. Also check the Affinity Quick Reference site for a list.
  15. Also check the Quick Reference site which lists German books and training for the programs.
  16. Yes it is possible. Apply a B&W adjustment layer. This is also a mask layer so you can paint on the layer where you would like the colour to come through.
  17. Yes that is what also happens on my computer with Affinity Photo.
  18. Thanks for the update in 1.6, including responding to requests for the light UI.
  19. There is a media browser in the Mac version under the View menu. Affinity has mentioned that sometime they will come out with a separate D.A.M. program sometime in the future. There are a variety of threads discussing a D.A.M.
  20. I would suggest downloading the latest version of GraphicConverter 10 (now at 10.4.2 and note that ver. 10 is a paid upgrade). Try it as it works better showing previews of Affinity Photo files than initially.
  21. GraphicConverter for the Mac also supports viewing the Affinity Photo previews. I wrote a post on my blog about setting it up to open files from the browser in another program like Affinity Photo as there are a couple places in the preferences to specify a program.
  22. There is also an "External Editors for Photos" extension in the Mac App Store. The upcoming version of Photos in High Sierra is said to have support for editing in another program.
  23. The Affinity Photo roadmap mentions "Non destructive Develop Layer" so it looks like there will be more non-destructive options in the future.
  24. I'm also interested in doing a talk about Affinity Photo at my camera club sometime. I thought of showing one of the intro videos and come up with a demo, i.e. to show how the develop and photo persona work and some of the features it has. For me to do that I would have to put a trial version on another computer since I use Affinity Photo on a desktop computer. The Affinity Quick Reference is a good resource for Affinity Photo which provides links to the Affinity resources as well as other info.
  25. A comment about the latest version of GraphicConverter (now 10.3.1) is that it supports previewing Affinity Photo images in the Browser. (like those in the Finder)
