  1. Thank you, I was able to "restore" the settings from a backup. The update options and ways confuse me totally.
  2. I´m on Win11. And I used the "Install" way. ALL my presets brushes, color palettes, styles and export presets are lost. Do you know if I can copy / paste a folder out of a backup where these presets were stored? So I could get them back?
  3. Hello. After updating to 2.6 I lost all my custom made export presets. It was a lot of work. Is there any chance to get them back from a backup file or something?
  4. Hello. All my presets and color palettes disappeared after I updated Affinity Designer from 2.5.5 to 2.5.6 today. This is so frustrating, as I spent a lot of time creating them. As they still are availabe in Photo an Publisher, I did not update these. Does anybody know how to get them back? I there a kind of config file or something that I can copy over? If yes, where can I find it / what is the default path? Regards Edit: I downloaded the wrong installer. After clicking on "download" I had to choose an installer (why???) and chose the "recommended" MSIX installer. This created a fresh additional installation of Designer. So I uninstalled it, downloaded the "MSI (EXE)" installer and my existing installation was updated.
  5. Thank you so much. This solved it for me too.
  6. Hello. I´m confused. On August 28th I installed Affinity 2 on Windows 11. That was version 2.5.3.2516 . I can´t remember what kind of installation or download link I used, I guess it was just "download for Windows" or something like that. Today I got a notice that a newer version is available (2.5.5.2636). I downloaded them as recommended as ".msix" and installed all 3. Now the links are not updated and if I open any Affinity file, it is still opened with Affinity 2.5.3 and I again get a notice to update. What´s wrong here? Did I choose the wrong installation file? I have WIN 11 version 23H2 with an AMD Ryzen 9 processor, 64-Bit. Any ideas?
  7. Thank you, this looks like a workaround. Unfortunately Designer has no fields panel.
  8. You are right and I was not concrete enough. It is about coming from Adobe and opening *.ai or *.idml files in Affinity. So I edited the Question and topic.
  9. Hello. If I open an Adobe *.ai or *.idml file in Affinity file and save it with a different name to adapt it for a different customer, then the exported PDF does not have the new meta data. It ist still showing the former meta data name an description. This is unpleasant... Is this going to be fixed?
  10. Hello Pšenda and thank you for the hint. I have searched a lot and nearly all of the search results behind your link are more than 5-6 years old. So I wanted to know if there is a solution or not. Thank you anyway 🙏
  11. Hello. I have received JPG files from a customer that need to be placed in a Publisher document. The JPG files contain an (invisible) clipping path so that they can be placed either with background or clipped. When I open this JPG in Affinity 2 Photo, the transparent background is displayed. If I place the JPG in Publisher, it is always placed with a white background. However, I need it clipped. I am missing an option in Publisher where I can choose whether it should be placed normally or clipped. Is there a trick that I may not know about? Best regards Martin
  12. I have a new information from Summa about the OPOS Registration Marks. It is possible to place them yourself, the plugin is not absolutely necessary. Attached you find a detailed OPOS operation taht explains how to manually set OPOS markers. This could be a good workaround for some of us, even if a plugin is of course still appreciated in the future. Regards Martin Manually set OPOS markers.pdf
  13. I found my personal workaround for this: Export as PDF Right click on PDF --> open with: Notepad++ STRG+F and search for text strings you want to change Overwrite the text Save. 😄
  14. For ADOBE there are plugins from Summa for creating Opos Registration Marks. Now I have switched to Affinity and Summa does not (yet) offer a plugin for Affinity. I really need a solution for this.
  15. Hey Garry, thanks for clearing this. Regards Martin
