Hello.

After updating to 2.6 I lost all my custom made export presets.
It was a lot of work.

Is there any chance to get them back from a backup file or something?

What OS do you use?

Is anything else missing that you added (Styles, Assets, Brushes, etc.)?

If you're using Windows, when you did the update did you get a prompt to "Install" or to "Download"? If you were asked to Download, the answer is probably that you mistakenly downloaded the MSIX installer, rather than the MSI/EXE installer to match what you were running. And in that case, you would have two entries for the application in the Windows Start menu, and you should uninstall the second one (MSIX), run the first one, and this time download the MSI/EXE version and run it.

I´m on Win11.
And I used the "Install" way.

ALL my presets brushes, color palettes, styles and export presets are lost.

Do you know if I can copy / paste a folder out of a backup where these presets were stored?
So I could get them back?

That's very odd, Martin, and one I've never seen as it usually only happens when someone is running the MSI/EXE version, which gives the Download prompt.

Yes, you should be able to recover the data from a backup. This FAQ describes where the files are located:

I think that in this case too, a different type of installation was performed than the previous installation.
Just select MSI/EXE installation, and the preferences will be back.

If Martin is correct that he got an Install prompt, not a Download prompt, then he was running the MSIX previously and it would have downloaded & installed the proper MSIX version.

Thank you, I was able to "restore" the settings from a backup.
The update options and ways confuse me totally.
