  1. Point 2. You can customise the Assistant to Take no Action for some of the tasks or switch it off all together There is no option for it to ask permission but if it does something you don't want then use Undo
  2. Have you tried the button on the Channels panel? I find it more convenient than hunting for the dropdown on the Context toolbar
  3. Best I can do is go into Develop Persona, set a Location from the Info Panel, adjust the White Balance to get as close to white as possible (#fff6ff), Develop, add a curves adjustment layer and adjust until the Location readout just hits #ffffff. You may get a similar result using a Colour Balance adjustment instead of Develop but I've only just thought of that Photographing shiny stuff like this is as difficult as it gets, the only way I can get a proper white background is to place the items on a translucent table and give it a belt with a studio flash from below. It ain't easy If you need to cut items out then I would recommend photographing them individually, sometimes it's easier against a black background
  4. I get similar results. It looks like dithering and it gets worse if you reduce the number of colours in the Export. I have tried a Posterising layer but have failed. Affinity gif & png export is poor compared with Photoshop Save for Web and I have given up with it until it is fixed. Sorry, it seems to be normal behaviour of APhoto
  5. Don't think that's possible but you can set locations from the Info panel then toggle your adjustments to see the changes at specific points. Look up Info panel in the help, on windows it's here file:///C:/Program%20Files/Affinity/Photo/PhotoHelp/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/pages/Panels/infoPanel.html
  6. James Ritson beat me as I was just doing this.... The photo in APhoto has an sRGB profile, the other two programs don't use it, neither does Chrome, I didn't know about Firefox and it looks like I need to update Irfanview
  7. The History panel won't delete objects although it can take you back to before they were created If you have inadvertently deleted an object then you can step back through History until it reappears. Copy it to a new document, move the Position slider over to the extreme right then copy the missing object from the new document
  8. I don't think there is much chance of that How do you do those blue boxes????
  9. Good luck https://affinity.help/photo/de.lproj/index.html?page=pages/CurvesShapes/pasteStyle.html?title=Übertragen von Stilen und Effekten
  10. In Photo you can select the layer with the fx, <ctrl> c to copy, then select the layer without fx and from the menu Edit/ Paste FX
  11. Yep. In Photo I would draw a simple shape, set fill to white, stroke colour, width, other options as required then Edit/ Defaults/ Sychronise from Selection - this will maintain those parameters for the session Or to make them permanent Edit/ Defaults/ Save - for all future work It's similar for Designer as described here https://affinity.help/designer/English.lproj/index.html
  12. Yes, you are correct, unticking snaps to invisibles too. However, snapping to real guides and DIY guides just works and is not zoom dependent. I can only wonder if the mac version is different from Windows but that's a long shot, hopefully Serif staff will pick this up and respond In the attached file, the DIY guides were drawn with the Pen along the top and left edges then moved using the Transform Panel. The real guides were set with the Guide Manager. Drawing a rectangle snapped perfectly to both intersections and looking at the Transform Panel for the rectangle confirms this. I would've sent my previous file but it grew to 1.63MB which is ludicrous for vectors and text - after deleting all text layers it went to 1.99MB.....Save history is turned off..... 13. In the Snapping Manager I enabled Only snap to visible objects and it works very well. This is a clever technique by thomaso that also allows the use of shapes or lines at any angle Bonus, a Colour Overlay fx allows you to change the colour DIYgrids.afassets
  14. At first I thought it was shapes not aligned to pixels but that didn't work. I can't see what's wrong but the fix is a white fill layer over the master pageTest_Outlines-AlignedWhiteFill.afphoto Test_Outlines-AlignedWhiteFill.afphoto
  15. I just tried in Photo, dropped a rectangle over part of an image, set the fill to white and the stroke to 0px, exported with everything rasterised and it's fine
  16. This will work but they will all end up one one layer Select all curves, menu Layer\ Geometry\ Merge curves then Rasterise
  17. If you work like that then great On windows you can right click the file and choose Open with, then go down and find Photo, click the box Always open. No idea on a mac
