  1. @Ash Can you add a feature of "Section Break" so in case we restart the numbering of a section on a page and it reflows down, the new page number sticks to the new page?

Also, can you add a feature to fix a master page to a specific style. I format books too, and I have a special Master page of chapter openers, but If I adjust the text and it increases/decrease the page number, then suddenly the chapter opener master page is in the wrong place.

  2. An option to convert Spot colors to CMYK or RGB would be awesome.

Thanks for the info about the "press ready" black conversion, which profile do you recommend for exporting to Print On Demand platforms like KDP, lulu, IngramSpark...

And lastly, Serif should prioritize features that make the apps work for large teams in professional environments like RTL and CJK languages support, print, installation files and collaboration. This is the fastest way to make more money selling multiple licenses.

    Buying the Affinity Suite V2 Universal licence and getting V1 retroactively would mean;
you only pay 1.02€ more than I did for V1 alone and I bought at EVERY launch offer.

    39,99€ Affinity DesignerV1 2016 November
    39,99 Affinity PhotoV1 2016 December
    38,99 Affinity PublisherV1 2019 June
    ________
    118,97€

    Affinity v2 Universal
    119,99€

I had to pay 238,96€ to get access to BOTH V1 and V2.
you get it for just 119,99€

It seems you are not realizing how generous Serif is with the above posted comment with getting you a V1 version.

That's not how it really works. You probably used V1 for a couple of years saving money compared to competitors or earning income using it. And now while you'll use V2, let's say for 3 years, he'll use V1 and you both will to pay for V3. You're getting the better deal here.

I did already bought V1 of Affinity Photo and Designer a few years ago. What I want is V1 of Publisher. I can't use V2 because my OS on my macbook pro is 10.14.6 (please read my original post). I had downloaded the trial V2 and it doesn't work on my macbook due to my not wanting to upgrade my OS and losing itunes.

If you can arrange for me to get a V1 of Publisher that would be great, thanks so much.

He said that you have to purchase Publisher V2 in order for him to be able to arrange a V1 license.

Since V2 was announced as a replacement for V1 and the official announcement that V3 will be released as well, it is not a good idea to continue to not add vertical writing functionality.
As long as Affinity supports at least Chinese and Japanese versions, ignoring those features is like wasting money on translations.
In fact, there are many Japanese users who left Affinity in despair over the lack of vertical writing in V2.

We are well aware of the cost and time required to implement non-Latin texts.
That is why we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of those text features and ask you to start developing them.

I'm sorry if my English is strange because I don't usually touch English at all 😢

I don't work for affinity xD! and if I did, I would make languages support top-priority.

You never own the software, only the right to use it.

What he said is that the universal license requires you to connect to the internet to activate it. In case someone can't, like corporations doing it for security reasons, then they can't activate it. If outage or a disaster happens to Affinity servers, or if they decided to shut them down, you won't be able to install it on new hardware. This means you lost your right to use it.

People are acknowledging that. That's why people are unhappy. I bought the software 80 days before Serif abandoned it.  There is nothing reasonable about expecting someone to be satisfied with that situation. It shouldn't be "cool if it works" - it should be something that can be relied upon to work.

Serif should be addressing this in a way that doesn't involve buying a new product without consideration for what was just paid and the limited value provided. That's easily the worst customer service I've experienced from a software vendor.

I think someone contacted them and they replied that if you bought V1 90 days before V2 release you can another discount on top of the %40.

  8. 2 minutes ago, csadam said:

Sure, 40% is better than 20%, but these are two totally different things.

The 20% discount is a constant upgrade offer that you can use any time, and if they have deals then the deal discount comes on top of that 20%.

The 40% is a time limited black friday/release/whatereveryoucall deal, and you get no incentive to upgrade after it's over. That's the problem.

That's a good argument. If a guy who purchased V1 was on vacation and missed on the 40% sale, then he won't really get any upgrade discount.

YES! I terribly require a shift constraint or some sort of alignment snapping especially in Designer since thats vector warp, and I cannot free hand warp on my vectors, I need the peace of mind knowing I warped each side symmetrically.

Looking for an urgent update that allows snapping for warp tool please.

Good to realize that it's absent in Designer too.

I don't know how much these things are related, but Adobe stock values plummeted at the end of August. Maybe news of the imminent release of Affinity V2 were spreading in the big investors environments. They had to do something to avoid the worse.

The stock value increased rapidly after the announcement, two days ago. It might not be related, but it is a curious coincidence. By following my conspiracy theory, one could say that after seeing that Affinity V2 is not yet ready to replace the Adobe workflow in production, with no way for freelancers and shops to replace InDesign with a compatible product, and no compliance with the accessibility laws, they breathed a sigh of relief.

Every software company stock plummeted in the last year including zoom, spotify and hardware like AMD, nvidia. The sudden rise is to all stocks too due to the federal bank saying that they'll stop increasing the interest rate.

The people who didn't get their needed features implemented got angry. And to be honest, there are things that render the software unusable to for a lot of graphic design work. Luck of complex layout text and RTL languages support, even sino languages users complain all the time from luck of vertical text and punctuation support. And luck of ebook export too.

I understand that the company can't add everything at once, and they also has the right to ask for another round of payment after 3-8 years of free updates. But I guess a not of people's work can't wait for another couple of years for them to be implemented and need them now.

PS's whole Smart Object scheme now seems like a top-heavy, inefficient kludge compared to the Affinity Way😇.

Maybe Affinity Photo is better for scaling up or down images with preserving pixel information natively is better than Photoshop Smart Objects. But Smart Objects can help a lot for warping objects for muckups and quick change of logo and other elements. With the Mesh Warp being a live filter now, that's good, but still not as good as Smart Objects. It's really the only feature I miss from Photoshop.
