Hello Affinity Team,   ich liebe Euch. Ich habe hier von Deutschland aus die ersten digitalen Versionen von Photoshop online heruntergeladen und gekauft. Alles habe ich miterlebt. Dreamweaver und Freehand wurden gekauft und nachdem ein Monopol aufgebaut war wurde auf Vermietung umgestellt. Adobe hat nach und nach das ganze Betriebssystem (damals Windows XP) verseucht. Obwohl Version 6 bezahlt war gab es ständig Probleme mit der neuen Mietversion. Beide Versionen auf einem Computer resultierten in einem Chaos. Ein riesiger Mist! What a mess!   Eure Software steht Adobe in keiner Weise nach. Ich habe früher auch viele andere Hersteller ausprobiert, aber das konnte einen, wenn man einmal mit Adobe Produkten gearbeitet hatte nicht zufriedenstellen. Eure Produkte haben definitiv diesen Clamour Faktor, den auch zugegebenermaßen Adobe Produkte haben. Durch eure saubere blitzschnelle Software seit Ihr aber wohl längst besser. Die Schnelligkeit auf einem gutem Mac ist der Hammer. Ich gehe davon aus, dass Ihr noch so etwas wie Lightroom auf den Markt bringt. Dann habt Ihr Adobe im Sack!  Leicht wird es aber nicht werden, denn Adobe wird reagieren. Ich gehe davon aus, dass Adobe mit minimal in ihrer Funktion reduzierten „Kauf-Apps“ (Semi-Profi Bereich) kontert. Wir werden sehen. Viel Glück.   Best regards from Nurenberg, Bavaria Juergen

May I add my name to the (hopefully) HUGE number of people wanting to say Thank you for creating a sensible alternative to the Adobe/Quark domination of DTP! My collection Photo/Designer/Publisher is now complete.
All I require now is a vector warp tool in Designer Feel free to have a break for a couple of days and then I'll gladly test your 1.7.1 beta with said tool!!!

Serif kommuniziert zwar beispielsweise vollmundig »advanced typography, aber ohne die fehlenden, aber notwendigen Grundfunktionen lassen sich InDesign-Nutzer wohl sehr lange nicht überzeugen. Nur noch wenige Profis gleichen jede Überschrift händisch aus und erstellen manuell grafisch korrekten Flattersatz. Das müsste Software eigentlich automatisieren – vier Jahre nach dem angekündigten Erscheinungstermin.

Yeah, I know that. My mistake. I shouldn't be using the beta for production. I tested AD 1.7 quite a few times before deciding to go this route, I needed isometrics for some infographics and I thought the beta was stable. I was wrong and now I regret it. I'm going back to 1.6 for new projects now.
About betas, they are meant to be more stable with each release, not the other way round. Also, good software development practices dictates that beta testing must be done internally by a specially dedicated team so major bugs will not be released to users. If found, these should be quickly corrected with top priority. Also, big changes (even internal ones) should always be clearly documented. And so on.
