  1. ivanl, Embedding an SVG file as a document is mentioned in the Lace Frame Galleries 2 project. In terms of templates, by looking at the link you added, might you be referring to our Symbols feature which was introduced in the Designer 1.5 release? This is also covered in the workbook in the Tix App 1 project. Regards Andy Capstick
  2. Kodiak, Interested in your work. Could I ask if you're ever tempted to go beyond inpainting in Affinity Photo. You perform cropping before inpainting too? Just interested to know if you ever work on tones, highlights, and shadows. I think you suggested that you feel the art is in the shot which I completely get so maybe post-shoot in-app tone control would suggest that the shot was not how you wanted it. As a keen birder i'm loving the photos. :-) Andy Capstick
  3. Hi, In response to requests for a quick peek at the Table of Contents... Hope it whets the appetite. Regards Andy Capstick
  4. Oval, Yes it is the user manual referenced some months back :-) Andy Capstick
  5. Wordsberry Jonathan's section is very detailed (40 pages in fact) - i'm confident you won't be disappointed. It does capture how to get that very unique style he has. Andy Capstick
  6. Hi guys, Target the lower curve on the Layers Panel by Option-click on its thumbnail. Now it's isolated, with Cmd key pressed, select the unwanted node and press Delete. Clicking away will exit isolated mode. AndyC
  7. Sheppy29, We have a Corner Tool video here. It demonstrates cornering on geometric shapes but you can apply the principles to curves with sharp corner nodes. Hope this helps. AndyC

  9. Hi elias, The Muli font is available as a google font - at https://www.google.com/fonts Myriad Pro is an Adobe font which you get with Adobe products and can be obtained via TypeKit https://typekit.com/foundries/adobe. If you don't want to go down that route, an alternative font will be used in place of any missing font within Designer. Regards Andy Capstick

  11. Hi Bobhorgan, You'll find a superset of keyboard shortcuts in Designer or Photo Help, which is presented in list form as you prefer. Just search for "shortcuts". One thing to note is that more complex multi-key shortcuts can't be presented on a keyboard layout cheat sheet easily so you'll find these in the Help. Regards Andy Capstick Affinity Documentation
  12. Hi ken_p, I think this is the one you mean.. https://vimeo.com/122305831 Regards Andy Capstick Affinity Documentation
  13. Vatolin, El Capitan only i'm afraid. I'll update the article to make this clearer. Apologies. Andy Capstick Affinity Documentation

  15. Minimum requirements: Affinity Photo 1.4 and Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.1) To enhance the photo editing capabilities of your Apple Photos application, Affinity Photo makes available a series of ready-to-go extensions: · Develop: for processing raw images · Haze Removal: for removal of misting · Liquify: for image warping · Miniature: for depth of field effects · Monochrome: for black and white effects · Retouch: for traditional brush tools, red eye removal, inpainting, and sharpening Installing Affinity Photo makes the extensions appear in Photos, which can be selectively disabled if needed. As good practice, we do recommend launching Affinity Photo before using Apple Photos. To find out more, watch the Extensions for Apple Photos VideoTutorial. Best wishes Affinity documentation

  18. Hi Oval, Do you mean the Table of Contents on the left? If so, this is broken in this build. If not, could you provide a screenshot please? Thanks AndyC
  19. Hi Affinity Photo users, After a brief hiatus we have another set of videos for you, courtesy of James Ritson (docs team). Channels for Alpha Masking Target tonal ranges using alpha channels and filter masking. Maximising Raw Latitude For Raw enthusiasts, we'll switch off Develop Assistant for tonal flexibility Vector-based Retouching Apply vector techniques to clean up and stylize surfaces. Start to Finish: Vector Architecture Taking vector retouching further... Hope you enjoy! Affinity Documentation
  20. Oval: Thanks for your feeback about the Help. As Matt suggested - there is a documentation lag. The documentation team does have to reseach, write, test and illustrate the Help but only when the functionality becomes available to us. I'm afraid we don't see functionality any earlier than you do, so there is an inevitable delay of at least one build. You may not be aware of another important issue. The US/DE/FR/ES help systems are intentionally not kept up to date during beta, only the UK English Help is updated per build. See the re-pinned article in the forum's home page for reasons why. This would explain a lot of your frustrations (lack of Character or Paragraph panel for example). Please be assured that these have been written up for release and are being translated for our next MAS update. Which leaves a few issues i'd like to clarify affecting MAS versions and the help therein. - Expressions. We had to hold this topic back from localization as some expressions are presented and input as English strings (e.g, "pagespread"), causing a localisation problem. This is the only topic that has been held back from customers and only on the basis of technical problems. We hope to have it back for all languages. - Compounds and Boolean operations. Well I kept with the term compound in the help, ignoring "Boolean operations" as a term as I felt it wasn't adding anything. However, I'll add Boolean into the topic indexing and content to help users more. Thanks for that. Andy Capstick Affinity documentation
  21. Hi Jackamus, I've checked the Affinity Designer Help and we have a note in the help under Pan/scroll the Document View and Viewing topics (Get Started book).. "You can also pan the Document view using the track pad, mouse wheel, scroll bars, or the Navigator panel." It's difficult getting a handle on all the options but at least it's covered in the docs already. Regards AndyC
  22. Hi Everyone, Thanks for the kind words about the video tutorials, which seem to be well received. I need to come clean though. We're lucky to have James Ritson here in Affinity Towers to produce and publish these Photo tutorials so I'm not taking credit for his hard work! I'll keep you informed of video updates though, while I strive to deliver accurate Designer and Photo Help along with my other colleague Nat Ravenlock, who's equally valued here :) . While i'm on.. Here are another two videos to get those tastebuds going again... Swirling Bokeh Luts for Tonal Adjustment Thanks Andy Capstick Affinity Documentation
  23. To get your weekend off to a fun start, why not run through these new videos? Hope you enjoy. Shadows/Highlights Split Toning and Selective Colour Displacement Adding Bokeh Export Compression Efficiency Andy Capstick Affinity Docs
