swastiverma Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 I am trying to use Lens blur on Affinity Photo. After opening the Lens Blur Adjustment, as soon as I click on Radius Affinity Photo crashes. I tried using Depth of Field and Gaussian and they work fine. Let me know if there is any issue with the same? Chris B 1 Quote
Staff Chris B Posted October 11, 2019 Staff Posted October 11, 2019 Hey swastiverma, welcome to the Affinity Forums. Rotating seems to work but if I type in a value and OK it, it will crash. I'll log this with the developers—thank you. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
RNKLN Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 My experience so far is that, while it doesn't crash, it's horribly slow. Also, when i apply a mask to the filter in order to paint out some of the effect, the brushing behaviour is very poor. Perhaps whatever is causing the crash is causing poor performance for you. A screen recording may help if you could provide one. RNKLN Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 The problem is that, when i make a recording, the recording kind of crashes (when i stop recording nothing is saved). What i did notice while trying to record is that selecting a high Radius value (e.g. 800 px) seems to have a big impact. As long as that value is low there's not a real problem (just a little bit slow). As of a value of 200 px the performance really starts to deteriorate. I'm using images of an approx. 1080P size. Note: i've also noticed that my fan keeps running after this exercise, even after i have quit Affinity Photo (it's not there any longer in Activity Monitor). Normally, it will go back to 'silent state' after a while. Quote Affinity Photo - Affinity Designer - Affinity Publisher | macOS Sequoia (15.4) on 16GB MBP14 2021 with 2.6.x versions
Staff Chris B Posted October 15, 2019 Staff Posted October 15, 2019 If that crash gets fixed, it may sort out whatever performance issues you are seeing. I will add your feedback to the bug report! Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
rheyman Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 I am running AP 1.7.3 on Mac OS 10.15. AP crashes when I apply a blur. Chris B 1 Quote
