In January 2018 @Leigh posted a list of brush category names & the number of brushes in each of them, which I think must have been the factory defaults for Affinity Photo & Affinity Designer versions 1.6.x.

I would appreciate it if the same could be done for versions 1.7.x.

Also, I am not sure if there are any factory default brushes or categories included in Affinity Publisher (which of course would only be accessible via StudioLink & the Designer & Photo personas), but if there are any, I would like to see the same info for that as well.

This would be useful for several reasons, among them knowing what to expect if we either deleted the respective raster or vector brush propcol file or used the "nuclear" Preferences > Miscellaneous > Reset Brushes option to reset the brushes to factory settings.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide about this.

Thank you very much for getting around to posting this. Late is indeed much better than never! xD

I have added your post to my ever growing list of Safari bookmarks for easy reference. I also copied a slightly modified version of its content to an rtf format file with the link to the post included. I don't know if anyone else would find that file useful but it is attached to this post. It's a quick 8 KB  download.

I factory reset my brushes and Affinity showed me the default brushes! I wish Affinity would clearly label their default brushes. It would help me stay organized! haha

If it helps, the Brushes panel options allow you to sort the categories by date added. If you do that, everything you've added will appear at the end, and all the default brush categories will be before them.
