Staff Callum Posted August 2, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 2, 2019 Hi Michelle, What dimensions are your document before export? If possible could you proved the .afpub file in question so I can look into this further for you? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. MichelleL
HI Callum Please see attached. The dimensions are 2449.9mm W and 2230mm H LA Clouds Draft 1.afphoto
thomaso
It appears that the "cloud" objects are pixelated in an insufficient resolution to use them in that upscaled size without jagging. Look at this 25% zoom view: The best would be to use the clouds as vector objects – or, as workaround, to add smooth strokes to cover their jagged enlargement pixels. thomaso
Just a hint: Be aware that a print in that size (2 x 3 m) will be seen/watched/read from a much larger distance than a smaller poster or a book. Therefore with increasing print size the resolution may be reduced. Whereas a book needs 300 dpi your sample would be sufficient in 50 - 100 dpi (or even less, if it becomes placed at a high position > larger distance). To test the impression of resolution (and text size) before print: 1. place a red line rectangle of about 30 x 20 cm on a jaggy area in your layout 2. set your app zoom value showing that rectangle in its true size on screen (proof with ruler or e.g. a letter sheet) 3. step away and look at the screen at the expected reading distance (e.g. 2-5 m) 4. check the appearance of details on screen Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
