mykee
Dear developers, I have a problem with hyphenation. I set Minimum prefix and Minimum suffix to 3, and minimum length is 6. When before word is there non-breaking space, then APUB calculated with this, and hyphenation is wrong. I attached sample screenshot from my project. Staff Pauls Posted July 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 29, 2019 It looks like the non-breaking space is causing the two words to be treated as one for the minimum word length. mykee
mykee
Yes, this is my problem. If have a non-breaking space, two words will be one, and hyphenation no exclude these versions, but nbsp; is not a lock, just a space, what cannot hyphenate. (Two words is be treated, but hyphenation need start from second word only)
walt.farrell
The nbsp is a kind of lock, though, because it says the two words must be kept together. Or, at least, the last letter of the first word and the first letter of the second word must be kept together. If it doesn't act that way, then your text "A fekete" would have to move down to the next line as a unit, and you would have wider justification gaps between the other words on that line. I'm not sure that would be desirable, either. mykee 1 Quote -- Walt Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 22H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 22H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff Pauls Posted July 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted July 29, 2019 I've logged an issue it may be by design but it's certainly different to what some other applications do walt.farrell and mykee 1
