MikeFromMesa
I just downloaded the new version (1.2.1.25787) and many, if not all, of my previous settings are gone. 1) The Recents list, which was active, was empty, 2) The ToolBox settings were set back to their default values, 3) The Studio panels were set to some default rather than what their settings were with the prior version. There may well be others, but that was all I have seen at this point. It is not a big deal since I can (and will) reset them, but I am curious as to whether this was intention or an inadvertent side effect of some change. anon1
When I installed the new build it said this: "This beta will reset everything to factory defaults. if you have custom brushes, swatches etc. which you want to keep, please export them from the current beta before installing this update." So I think it was the intention or at least they just needed to do so for some reason. Peace (y)
Dave Harris
This was by design. Sorry - we should have warned you it was going to happen. I'm not sure exactly why it was necessary; it was probably along the lines of wanting to get back to sane defaults as those defaults become finalised as we get closer to launch. Everything will have been affected, as if you were holding Ctrl down as you ran the program and ticked every box.

If I had I would not have posted the question, but at least I now know it was intentional. Thanks for your post.
Staff MEB Posted June 6, 2015 Staff Share Posted June 6, 2015 Hi Mike, What probably happened was the .dmg window wasn't big enough to show you all the information. This is how it should have looked: A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
