Kuno Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 I have the same problem on my Mac since the last Update of Affinity Designer and also Photo. All Images are embedded. If I try to open an document that worked a couple of days before with the old versions perfect - it is not possible to open it any more. The Dokument File Size is 86MB. Affinity crashes directly on start when i try to open the document. Tried it several times with all affinity Apps including the new Publisher. Always the same. It crashes immediately. Hope there will be come a working update soon - otherwise it is a real problem for all affinity users because working is not possible if one can't access documents. Affinity Team please help and release a new Update! Quote

I've passed it over to the developers. @Kuno If you'd like to upload your file here I'll take a look and see if it was effected by the original issue discovered in this thread I've uploaded the file and it would be great, if I could open the file again. Thank you for your support. Quote
Staff Jon P Posted July 5, 2019 Staff Posted July 5, 2019 That's an afdesign file, so I've moved this to the Designer forum, it might crash in Publisher but if the file originated from Designer the bug that got the file in that state will be related to Designer, unless you have modified the file extension or loaded/saved it in different apps. I can reproduce the crash however, so we can get this logged, but I'll let a colleague look at it first Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
Staff Sean P Posted July 5, 2019 Staff Posted July 5, 2019 Hi Kuno, I've taken a look at your file and it seems to be struggling with the Constraints groups on a few of your artboards. I've removed the both 'Webdesign iPad' artboards and also the Webdesign iPhone' artboards and your file will now open. I'll PM you with a link to your file. Looking at the offending artboards it looks like you have Constraints Groups nested inside other Constraints groups (sometimes inside another Constraints Group). I would try to avoid doing this and keep your constraints groups to one level for now. I will get it passed onto development to investigate properly however. Thank you very much for letting us know!
