I'm having problems with software accents. When I use the accent ', for example in the word "faça" the program is writing like this "fa'ça" rather than "faça"...The same is repeated for the other characters: á, é, í, ó, and ú

From reading other posts, the behavior (especially on Mac, but possibly also on Windows) may be related to the kind of keyboard you're using and system preferences, and possibly OS version.

In other softwares, like affinity designer and photo, i don't have the same problem...

Are they all updated to 1.7.1?

I'm having the same problem. I'm using the "US International - PC" keyboard layout. App version 1.7.1

I guess additional explanation is necessary.

To get é under the "US Internarional - PC" keyboard layout, you have to type ' (apostrophe) + e. To get ã, it's ~ + a. To get à, it's ` + a. To get ü, it's " + u.

The problem with accents, even under the "US Internarional - PC" keyboard layout, does not occur if you use the general shortcut for accents in MacOS, which is option + e for the acute accent, option + i for the grave accent, option + n for the combining tilde or option + u for the umlaut.

I am having the same Issues as well. Czech keyboard. Attempts to type e.g. é result in (acute accent interpreted as lower single quote).

Just minor teething issues. Publisher is GREAT! ;-)

I am running Affinity 1.7.1 and I am having the same issue. The problem with the accents is internal to Affinity Publisher.
If I paste a text with accents they show up ok but if I change something in the paragraph style the accents get all wrong all over the place. It's very annoying because I have to paste the text in several places to make things right. Doing QA is a nightmare with this bug.
