GraemeJ Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 I've just downloaded the trial, but can't get it to install due to "Supported windows version not found". I'm running Windows 10, all updates done. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
GraemeJ Posted June 17, 2019 Author Posted June 17, 2019 Home. Checked for updates last night and it's got nothing pending. Quote

To see full details of your Windows version, hold down the WinKey (the key with the Windows logo, to the left of the space bar) and press and release the R key to display the Run dialog. Type or paste winver into the box and then press ‘OK’. Alfred Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 You need to update to version 1607 or later. Version 1511 is from late 2015, so it’s already more than three years old. GraemeJ Posted June 17, 2019 Author Posted June 17, 2019 Cool, thanks for the help, didn't even know this was a thing! Alfred 1 Quote
Alfred Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 It’s a newish thing. Serif had to move to a newer version of .NET to fix a crash at startup, and that newer version (.NET 4.7.2) prevents installation on versions 1507 and 1511 of Windows 10. In the Settings app, go to ‘Update & Security > Check for Updates’ to get the latest available version. That's the weird thing - this is a fresh install from January this year (by a pc repair shop...) I've been checking for updates and it was showing as fully up to date, it was only after you tipped me off that I learned I was years out of date. Downloaded update from Microsoft website, looking forwards to being able to check out Affinity photo now, been recommended by many people. Thanks again for your help Alfred 1 Quote

The ‘15’ in the version number indicates 2015: everyone should be on at least 1803 by now. Mark Ingram Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 FYI, latest Windows version is 1903. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/ Patrick Connor and Alfred 2 Quote
