Photo 1.7.0 on MacOS 10.8.5 (split)

Does Affinity Photo no longer work on Mac OS 10.8.5? I upgraded both Photo and Designer to 1.7 in the App Store, but Photo won't run. If not, how do I downgrade to the previous version?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We're aware of this issue and our developers are investigating. Unfortunately it's not possible to downgrade via the Mac App Store. I will keep you updated.

Thanks for your help. I was afraid of that (a fundamental flaw in the App Store that users didn't have to deal with years ago).

@Leigh I copied 1.6 version from my second mac and replace 1.7 

 

I think that in Serif user panel should be a link to older versions.

Absolutely agree. I definitely won't trust the App Store to update without making a backup copy in another location.

Could you explain a bit more about what you mean by "Serif user panel"?

If it is something connected to the Mac App Store, AFAIK Apple only offers to update to the latest submitted version & third party developers like Affinity have no control over that.
