  1. Please note that this bug still exists in both Affinity Photo and Designer 1.7.2. Is it possible to fix it?
  2. I assume it's a ligature issue. I think some software makes weird character substitutions when "fl" or "fi" appears.
  3. I also noticed that inability to switch tools from the View Tool; I had to quit to fix it. I don't know if it's related, but in Affinity Photo, sometimes the cursor doesn't update when changing tools, or the Move Tool or Node Tool will get selected, but clicking another tool eventually fixes it.
  4. In the Layers panel, grouping objects moves the Expand/Collapse icon under the Hide/Show checkbox: The group can be expanded by choosing Expand Selection from the popup menu, but carefully clicking the icon's edge restores it: This happens in Affinity Designer 1.7.1 and Affinity Photo 1.7.1 in OS X 10.8.5.
  5. So this beta, which supposedly "fixed startup crash on 10.7, 10.8," will be superseded by one or more betas, which will restore 10.8 functionality and eventually become the full 1.7.1 release? Is there an estimate on when that might happen?
  6. From the top post: "Fixed startup crash on 10.7, 10.8." The App Store still lists 10.7 or later.
  7. Affinity Photo Beta 1.7.1.138 won't launch on OS X 10.8.5: Unlike the previous version that gave an error message, this one barely starts to make room in the Dock and then fails. Please help!
  8. Do you remember when installers were more common, and if a new program caused problems, you could just reinstall the old version from a CD-ROM you actually owned? What luxurious times those were!
  9. Absolutely agree. I definitely won't trust the App Store to update without making a backup copy in another location.
  10. Thank you for your help with this. Not allowing older versions sounds like a massive bug in how the App Store functions.
  11. I didn't get the option to save the old version (which ran on 10.8.5), and now I can't run Affinity Photo at all. If it's going to overwrite applications, the App Store should allow users to download previous versions we already paid for.
  12. This would be unfortunate but acceptable if the App Store didn't list 10.7 as the minimum, and didn't overwrite my previously functional version of Photo.
  13. Thanks for your help. I was afraid of that (a fundamental flaw in the App Store that users didn't have to deal with years ago).
  14. The report includes the following: Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000 Application Specific Information: dyld: launch, loading dependent libraries Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/MapKit.framework/Versions/A/MapKit Referenced from: /Applications/Affinity Photo.app/Contents/MacOS/Affinity Photo Reason: image not found
  15. Do you know of another way to downgrade to the previous version? I can't get 1.7 to open on 10.8.5.
  16. That's worse than my problem (my purchases are still in my App Store). The application still lists compatibility set to 10.7 or later. I hope someone can help us.
  17. Does Affinity Photo no longer work on Mac OS 10.8.5? I upgraded both Photo and Designer to 1.7 in the App Store, but Photo won't run. If not, how do I downgrade to the previous version?
