How to install daub-watercolours-and-washes pack

i downloaded the daub-watercolours-and-washes pack but i can not figure out how to install the file in Affinity Designer and Photo .

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Leitz.

I don't have that pack, so I can't provide full instructions. However, if it's like the ones I do have, it probably downloaded as a .zip file. Your first step would be to unzip the file and put the contents into a directory of your choice. How you do that may depend on whether you're a Mac- or Windows-user.

Extracting the contents of the .zip file probably gives you a .afbrushes file and one or more other files. Perhaps one of them will be a PDF or text file with further instructions. If not, the Serif Affinity Store page for that pack provides a Support email address, and you should be able to use that to get more instructions if no one here provides them soon.

I can tell you how to import the brushes (.afbrushes file), but not knowing the other contents I can't say anything about them.

In general, to import brushes you open the Brushes panel (from the menu, View > Studio > Brushes, or click on its tab in the studio), then click on the hamburger menu on the right (see below) and choose "Import Brushes..." from the list:

Hi Walt, thanks for replying to this question, I'm using the Windows and iPad versions, but for me at least, the zip file of these papers expands to .png files, not the .afbrushes files, 

so I'm still stuck with what to do with them, any further suggestions? theoretically they are functional in both photo and designer,

The Papers folder includes 20 seamless paper texture images in png format that can be used as backgrounds, bitmap fills, etc. There is a nice video in this Spotlight article demonstrating how to use the textures & brushes together.
