mexwell
Hello together, I am new on Affinity Designer and try to understand all functionalities in the program. I work a lot with different text fonts and have to choose from several font styles the one which fits the best. I don´t know how to name it, I mean the layer which size I define at the start (e.g. 1000px x 1000px) there I design my stuff is in the middle of the screen. Around this layer there is that grey looking background. And in this background I want to place several fonts and compare them together. Unfortunately they are invisible. Is there a option where I can make them visible? I hope you can understand me. Thanks in advance.
Staff Gabe Posted February 3, 2019 Staff Share Posted February 3, 2019 Hi @mexwell, Welcome to the forums. You would need an artboard for this. Create an artboard from your document : Or tick the artboard box when you create a new document:And then you can use the "off artboard" space as a clipboard. Thanks, Gabe. mexwell
Gear maker
Mexwell, try going into the menu View > View Mode and uncheck Clip to Canvas (also switched using a / keystroke). This will allow anything in the gray area to be visible. mexwell, Patrick C and R C-R 2 1 Quote iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
