Mr Lucky
I want to type some text or create a shape that then cuts out a window in the (shape or image) layer below So for example: My entire background is a rectangle shape with a gradient fill. In the layer above I have another rectangle shape that has a black fill. In the layer above that I have some text (or a shape) that reveals the gradient shape though the black shape By using erase as a blend mode this does what I want, except that it works on all layers, not just the one directly below. Staff Gabe Posted January 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted January 30, 2019 Hi @Mr Lucky, If you nest the text layer (with erase blend mode) inside the black rectangle, it should work as expected: Thanks, Gabe. Mr Lucky
Mr Lucky
Thanks, that does exactly what I want.
Mr Lucky
One more thing, I noticed that if I have several shapes nested with erase blend mode and it works fine, but when I group those shapes they no longer show - I have tried setting the group to erase but still nothing. Any idea how I can group them and still make this work, many thanks
