mikeprag
Hi, Just been instructed to update the Designer. Downloaded the file but when running the update, after clicking install, it just says preparing and then setup failed. Any ideas what to do? Thanks Mike
Rick G
That may be related to an issue with Publisher that they cannot fix When setup fails, reboot then try again. It works for the chronic Publisher install issue Of course it may not be the same issue and therefor not work but it is worth a try Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

It does not seem to have anything about update failures other than one person has not had the experience Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

It seemed to have something to do with the monitor resolution settings So it may be related. Thanks - I did not put that together. I will look again. But it should be fixed as many of us have had that issue with Publisher Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Staff Sean P Posted January 28, 2019 Staff Share Posted January 28, 2019 Hi Mike, I presume it is Publisher you've updated to 227? We haven't released an update for Designer yet! There is a known issue with the installer causing it to fail if the Windows Display DPI is set to greater than 200%. This will be fixed in the upcoming installer however. In the meantime you can lower this to 200%, install the update and then switch it back to your desired setting.

It has consistently failed to update, rather it kills the current install. A reboot is required and then the install happens correctly My screen was set to a slightly higher magnification ... I just reset it to 125% but it has never approached 200 % I wish someone had mentioned this before I stopped reporting it. I would have gladly spent some time adjusting my resolution to verify this Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
