Update fails

Recommended Posts

That may be related to an issue with Publisher that they cannot fix

When setup fails, reboot then try again. It works for the chronic Publisher install issue

Of course it may not be the same issue and therefor not work but it is worth a try

I am truly not trying to be dense, but what are we looking for in that article?  It does not seem to have anything about update failures  other than one person has not had the experience

In that post is a reference to other posts where people had an issue with the latest installer for publisher on windows.

It seemed to have something to do with the monitor resolution settings

So it may be related.

Thanks - I did not put that together. I will look again. But it should be fixed as many of us have had that issue with Publisher

Hi Mike,

I presume it is Publisher you've updated to 227? We haven't released an update for Designer yet! There is a known issue with the installer causing it to fail if the Windows Display DPI is set to greater than 200%. This will be fixed in the upcoming installer however.

In the meantime you can lower this to 200%, install the update and then switch it back to your desired setting.

Yes, Publisher ... 227. It has consistently failed to update, rather it kills the current install. A reboot is required and then the install happens correctly

My screen was set to a slightly higher magnification ... I just reset it to 125% but it has never approached 200 % I wish someone had mentioned this before I stopped reporting it. I would have gladly spent some time adjusting my resolution to verify this
