Gaul
Hello, After having bought Affinity Photo as a no-brainer .. used for photo retouching only I am thinking now about Affinity Designer.. for fun.. for private use only How big/long will the learning curve be? I am not in the trade.. Just use a few photo software as Lightroom, now Affinity Photo, tried Paint in the past, use Powerpoint at work for fancy slides (but not design as such).. 2 hours 2 days 2 months 2 years ?? gdenby
Hi, Gaul, IMO, there is enough stuff in the program that it might take you 2 days to try out everything. For myself, it took about 2 mo.s using a minimum of 2 hrs/day to find what I needed easily. I'm somewhat old, and easily distracted, so may have been a bit slow. Its been a bit more that 2 years now, and there are some things that are just becoming obvious to me. I s'pose I'll be just about up to speed when v. 1.7 consumer is released. Look at it this way. You just bought a piano. How long will it take you to learn to play it? chakko007 and Gaul 2 Quote iMac 27" Retina, c. 2015: OS X 10.11.5: 3.3 GHz I c-5: 32 Gb, AMD Radeon R9 M290 2048 Mb iPad 12.9" Retina, iOS 10, 512 Gb, Apple pencil Huion WH1409 tablet

Thx, that sums it up nicely.. Also taking my '2' figures as an example, so all very clear. At this price, I think I will give it a go! Much appreciated. And you might start by viewing the tutorials that Serif provides for Designer. Those should give you some idea of the capabilities of the program, and whether it might be something of interest to you.
