skappley
Hello, I'm wondering if there is a possibility to draw a line around an existing curve. E.g., I have a shape, let's say a rectangle of 4x7cm. Now I want to create an additional line around that existing shape, with a distance of exactly 5mm. Is there a function or easy way to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated, because I search for quite some time now, but couldn't find a solution. Thanks in advance, skappley
firstdefence
There is no offset path feature but you can set a stroke of 5mm to the outside and then expand that stroke. You will need to divide the resulting shape and delete the inner rectangle skappley 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... v_kyr
Or add an FX border of 18.897638 px to the shape, though the release version always draws rounded corners for that (don't know if it is fixed in the 1.7 betas). skappley 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
skappley
Thanks for the answers! I tried what @firstdefence suggested and it works nicely, that's exactly what I wanted to do. Thank you very much :-) firstdefence
