Minus44 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Many of us came to Affinity Photo from long years of working with Photoshop. I don't know about you guys, but we're so glad for the Affinity tools we now use! Although many of the tools, features, and keyboard shortcuts in Affinity Photo bear a resemblance to those found in Photoshop, they're not always exactly the same. Once you become embedded in Affinity Photo, it almost becomes like speaking a different "language." Many things are easier in Affinity Photo, but other things are simply... different. I recently came across a 1-minute video on YouTube demonstrating how to use Photoshop's Hue/Saturation tool remove red blotches from a face. I thought to myself, "This can definitely be done in Affinity Photo, but the HSL adjustment tools are not precisely like those in the Hue/Saturation tool in Photoshop. For example, is there a way to select specific color values with the HSL tool in Affinity Photo? How would you go about translating this tip into the language/tool set of Affinity Photo? And is it as quick and easy for you as this Photoshop tip seems to be? I'm interested in reading the variety of ways we come up with. (NOTE: The sample image he uses is freely downloadable directly from a link in the description of the video on YouTube.) Quote

Minus44 Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 @souacz I believe in many ways your approach can produce a superior result overall. Thanks for playing and taking the time to produce a video demo. Quote
souacz Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 @Ulysses Beta version (1.7) brings new HSL adjustment tool. We have the same tools as in PS, look at this: 2018-12-29_04-21-53.mp4 Alfred and Minus44 2 Quote Dell Precision T7910, 2x Xeon E5-2630v3, 128 GB RAM DDR4, Quadro K6000, Dell UP2716D, Huion Inspiroy Q11K V2 Pen Tablet, WIN 10 PRO Dell Precision T3640, Xeon W1290, 128 GB RAM DDR4, Quadro RTX 5000, Eizo CG319X, Huion Inspiroy Q11K V2 Pen Tablet, WIN 10 PRO FWS -----Graphic software: Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher - Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat - Zoner Photo Studio - Topaz Gigapixel Ai, Denoise Ai, Sharpen Ai
Minus44 Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 @souacz thanks for the heads up! That certainly is a bit of a game changer for those of us who love to us the HSL tool. Some of the key usability features in the PS Hue/Sat tool were missing in Affinity Photo. Sounds like it’s going to be even better than ever. Thanks again for the demo! Fixx 1 Quote
