Curves and Shadows&Highlights interacting strangely

1. Create a new square image and fill it with something

2. Create a curves layer and add some changes you can see

3. Create a shadows/highlight live filter below it, and add some shadows

4. Group the curves and shadows/highlights layers

5. Notice that there is a "border" of sorts of an area not affected by these layers



Attatched example. Also, I think this can be simplified a bit, but this is something I know fails.
