Ron P. Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I've been using AP on my Windows 10 desktop for over a year now and have not had this issue until now, with Photo Beta 1.7.. . I'm getting numerous reports from Windows, of it causing various file types to crash, and they were re-assigned to Photos (Windows Photo Viewer). These are graphic, photo type files. I can't stop AP from latching on to these file types. Other programs I have, there's an option through the preferences for them to restrict and/or remove it from files you do not want to be associated with it. Is there any way to do this? Or must I go into each file type via the Settings Menu of Windows and change each one? FYI, all my other programs I restrict them to their proprietary formats, and don't allow them to assign all my various graphic / photo file formats. Ron P. Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 I've researched the file types that were reported as crashing and changed by Windows to Photo. They were: raf (Fuji Raw File) pef (Pentax Raw File) orf (Olympus Raw File) mrw (Minolta Raw File) crw (Cannon Raw File) arw (Sony Digital Raw) These crashed while loading AP Beta. I've changed the default for them. Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. I wasn't trying to load into AP any of those file types. Windows just reported they crashed while I was launching this beta version. I had to look them up to find out what types of files they were. I shoot Canon cameras, so have no need for Fuji, Minolta, Sony.. ect, RAW files. Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Chris_K Posted November 22, 2018 Posted November 22, 2018 Hi Ron P. There is currently an issue with raw files, so this is most likely a extension of that. We are aware and will hopefully be resolving them soon Cheers Ron P. 1 Serif Europe Ltd - Check the latest news at www.affinity.serif.com
