DreamShark Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Is there a way in the application itself to re-open a locally saved file that has been closed? I accidentally closed a file and could not find it when trying to open locally saved files while using the application. I did manage to find it and open it using Files for iOS, bu I figured that the application would have this functionality built in. It was also missing the last save I made. I don’t think the application should remove the save screen if it’s still saving or failed to save (maybe display an error message?) Quote
Staff Gabe Posted November 19, 2018 Staff Posted November 19, 2018 Hi @DreamShark, Welcome to the forums. If you closed a file. you can re-open it by tapping on the "+" and choosing Open or Import from cloud, and navigate to the location where it was saved. 11 hours ago, DreamShark said: It was also missing the last save I made. What you have to remember is that the home screen, where documents are automatically saved to, is only a sandbox. If you close the file in the sandbox without first saving to an external location such is On My iPad or a cloud location then you will lose your work. So always use the hamburger icon to save before selecting close, which actually really means delete from sandbox. toltec 1 Quote Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on macOS 15.0 Beta Sequoia on M1 Mac Mini 16GB 1TB Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher 1.10 and 2.5 on Windows 10 Pro.
