TOC Flexible Separator Wish

I would like to see an option for flexible separators in the TOC separator drop down. I have the page number set to align on a centered tab at the right as you see. Small dots in a line would be nice to have between the topic and page number.

You should find that each entry has an associated Style. If you edit that Style, one of the options lets you specify leader characters. I can try to provide an example later (when I'm at my computer) in case that hint doesn't give you enough

For example, if the Heading 1 ToC entry is named "Toc: Heading 1" you can edit that style from the Text Styles panel, choose the Tab Stops section of the style properties, and specify the tab location, alignment, and leader character.

I'm trying to do exactly what is described in this article, get a row of dots between the TOC item and the page number, but I just cannot achieve this. I'm unable to get this 'Edit Text Style' dialog box to appear. I have Table of Contents selected under View > Studio, but cannot find the Table of Contents as shown above.

In the help file below, line 3 doesn't appear to work for me, ie, the double clicking does do anything, so I cannot get to step 5, adding the row of dots.

I'd much appreciate some step by step help with this, to get dots added between the TOC item and the number.

What you quoted is pretty much the step by step instructions.

You need to have the TOC created, and you need to be editing it (text cursor in the TOC) before the text styles will show up in the Text Styles panel. But at that point double-clicking on the text style should bring up the editing dialog.
