PDF/VT standard

Hello,

I have a story with photos on every page.  Parts of the photos are made transparent so that text, which is on top of the photo, is readable.  When I export as a PDF for printing purposes, the transparency is not handled well.  I believe that the appropriate PDF standard to accomplish this is the VT standard.  Are there plans to support this PDF standard?  If not, does anyone know a work around that I might use? At this point in time, I simply don't know how to control the transparency from Publisher (where it is great) to the PDF.

The PDF/VT spec has to do with variable printing. So it doesn't apply in this case.

This is where what you are using to view the PDF in (hint, don't use Mac Preview if using a Mac), how the file is constructed, the PDF export parameters, etc., being used comes into play. Screen shots can be useful, but a sample file is most useful.

In general, if the print establishment can use PDF/X-4 or a PDF compatibility 5 and above (without needing to adhere to a PDF specification) is useful. Either approach leaves transparency "live" in a PDF and should within Affinity applications as well.

In this case it should not matter which PDF version you use as lower PDF version should just flatten your design. Appearance in print should be the same.
