Export PDF in other sizes

Recommended Posts

Only one of tons of questions:

  • If bigger: What happens tom your images’ resolution?
  • If smaller: What happens to your text size?
  • If bigger or smaller: What happens to the aspect ratio of your document?

For preview reasons:

On a Mac, go into the print panel, set an output percentage and choose „Save as PDF“ from the „PDF flyout menu.

Well I think for all vector (fonts and more) its a simple scaling. For bitmap-images you're right, but a warning about altered dimensions should be enough. Aspect ratio ain't relevant if its going up and down any A-format.

But great solution with the printing-hack. Thats useable :)

Think you don’t understand, what I mean.

You say because „you don’t know the final print size“ you want a scaled output. Really? It does no matter, how small/big your typo is? It does no matter, wenn the aspect ratio isn‘t maintained?

You may output a document for preliminary use, but definitely not for „final print size“.

I'd also like to see this option. I often prepare an A4 poster and would also like to export it as and A5 or maybe A6 as a flyer. I don't want to have to create 3 versions of the same thing. In the old PagePlus you could set a percentage size for the export, it just scales the document. I never had any reproduction issues.
