When using more than 1 page the work space is not available to all pages but unique to one page. Makes moving text etc more difficult.

Cannot collect individual components into a group by using the mouse.

Will there be different page layouts available to choose - like labels, posters, CD labels

You can Zoom to Document. Every page in the document will be shown that way. If you have a lot of pages they will become really small. Zooming to 2 spreads, for example, is also possible with the Magnify tool.

As long as you draw a rectangle AROUND the objects you can select as many as you want. In the Preference dialog under Tools an option is available which makes it possible to draw a rectangle over a PART of the objects and still select them ('Select objects when intersects with selection marquee').

No one knows, as yet. But then again: it is a DTP program aimed at multipage documents, not an illustration program. You could take a look at Affinity Designer, if that's what you need.

Do you mean components on different spreads? if yes then No you can't. If  you mean components on the same page or spread then Yes you can, you have to select all to the object for each one you want not just some of it like in other applications.

That's controlled by a Preference, Bruce, as Tom mentioned above. On the General tab if I remember correctly.
