I think the document setup dialogue should default to cmyk, this is publishing after all.

Also it would be good to have the Link icon in the margin settings so that you can have all the margins the same without having to type the size into all fields.

Why aren't the bleed settings here? And where are they?

@Muscateer

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums :) and thank you for your useful comments on this early beat. I expect many of the things you mention to arrive before release.

I don't think the document should have a colour mode at all - I think it should bring in whatever colour mode is in the document, then convert the colours on export.

In fact, in a workflow for print it's favourable to have the images in the original colour space and then convert in the RIP.

Or you can you convert to a colour space when making the PDF.

I don't think the document colour space should force the images into any different space though throughout. That could be left until output.

That's not quite what I am saying. The document itself (leaving aside imported images) would normally be in cmyk, so that colours you create within the document are in this mode. I agree that imported image should stay the same (or optionally convert on import according to your preferences).

Well I suppose on how Affinity handles colour profile and it doesn't convert the profile, but only assigns, then that would be best - as most profiles are stripped out at the RIP anyway.

Would be interested to hear Affinity's take on it.
