captain_slocum Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Ignore previous post. This works fine. Important part of my workflow.
benwiggy Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 They've created a booklet interface control in the Print menu, so I'd say it's likely to be included at some stage, even if it doesn't work now. If you already use a third-party PDF booklet maker from ID, (which has had built-in booklets since CS3), then surely you wouldn't be wasting your time doing the same from AP (assuming there are other benefits over ID)?
francesca Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I have this concern. I use swift publisher and can save a sa PDF in a booklet form direct from the Swift interface. Can i do this with Affinity Publisher?
captain_slocum Posted August 30, 2018 Author Posted August 30, 2018 I have edited my post, as it was an error on my part - it works fine in AP. Thanks for the reply though. Incidentally, the reason I use Create Booklet (brilliant little app) was that ID just couldn't do it properly. Try creating an A5 booklet in ID that will be printed as a booklet onto A4 (true A5 and not half of A4 - there's a 0.5 mm difference) and try to get the margins exactly right and you will see what I mean.
Locutus Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 (@captain_slocum) If I understand you correctly, you say the create booklet export/print function "works fine in AP". I can't find it. Is it hidden in a menu somewhere?
Locutus Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Well, well. Problem is, when I try to use this method to produce a printable PDF, I have to turn my head anti-clockwise through 90º to proof read the document on screen!
MacHeritage Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Locutus, I believe that is how the default Mac OS printing options work. The exact same thing happens when printing a booklet with Swift Publisher.
