Go-away
why needs affinity photo 23gb space on icloud? what does it save there? all my projects have together 3,7gb. do I really need the backup?
Staff Gabe Posted June 21, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 21, 2018 Hi there, Did you assign Affinity Photo as the default app to open your photos? If so, all your photos would be picked up as "Affinity Photo" and therefore large backup folder. Thanks, Gabe.
Go-away
it is not Possible to set affinity photo as default photo app in ios.
Staff Gabe Posted June 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2018 To check the storage breakdown, you have to go to Apple Icloud > Icloud > Manage Storage > Affinity photo > And you will see here a breakdown of all your photo. Alternatively, you can log in directly to your icloud and see what's being backed up.
Go-away
in settings > storage it only shows me that the app documents & data uses 23gb, but it doesn't show me what data it is. and in icloud drive are only my created folders and not the backups
Staff Lee D Posted June 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2018 Instead of going to Settings > General > iPad Storage > Photo. Go to Settings > Username (1st option) > iCloud > Manage Storage > Affinity Photo. This will list all files with Affinity Photo and their sizes Gabe
Go-away
yes but that is only the stuff were is on my iPad and not the cloud
Staff Lee D Posted June 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2018 As most of the reported space is being taken up by Backups, have you checked to see what is backed up? This can be checked in a similar location to the iCloud, Go to Settings > Username (1st option) > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups, take a full screenshot and upload. Go-away
okay than here again this Screenshot, the right one is what is there and you cannot click here on affinity photo, you can just turn backup off or on
Staff Gabe Posted June 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2018 It's probably backed up old projects you had at some point in the past, and closed/deleted from your local iPad, or from our main screen.
Go-away
I already tried it, I deleted and disabled the backup and as I turned it back on it was again 23gb. last question, do I really need this backup? I save all my Projekts by myself that means I don't need this backup right?
Staff Lee D Posted June 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2018 I think we need to narrow down what is included in your iCloud backup files, as I don't believe I've ever seen Affinity Photo take up that much space. Which version of iOS are you running as when I go to Settings > Username (1st option) > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups, I see different screens, see below. Now my Backup is empty, but if I use it, a list of files and sizes will show.
Go-away
im right now on ios 11.3 beta 6 (waiting for jailbreak) I was already on ios 11.4 but there it was 23gb too
Staff Lee D Posted June 22, 2018 Staff Share Posted June 22, 2018 I'm not sure about beta versions of iOS but I've just checked 11.4 and I see the same screens as I uploaded and they are from 11.3 (non beta). So I'm not sure why you can't get to see the same menus to see what makes up the backup files on your iCloud.
