M4RCK3
Lovely! What features is not yet available in AD and photo comapred to using my tablet in illustrator and photoshop?
Staff MattP Posted February 25, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 25, 2015 For some reason, the Wacom driver on OS X Yosemite breaks the 'touch' pinch zoom gesture in basically all non-Adobe applications (which I'm trying to fix over the next few days), plus we currently don't have a 'opacity jitter' controller on raster brushes (whereas PhotoShop does). That aside, everything about the Wacom support is there - pressure, tilt, angle, eraser tip, barrel rotation (for Art Pen Stylus), stylus wheel (for Airbrush Stylus) Is there something in particular you need? You can obviously just try these out for yourself in the current Designer Beta or Photo Beta for free without even needing to own the software :)
ronnyb
+1 for opacity jitter :) Matt, is there some type of USB dongle you could place between your USB port and the Wacom to capture the signal being sent by the tablet to the driver? Just thought it might be a way to "see" what the tablet is sending in order to fix the pinch to zoom and touch ring gestures which currently beep Quote 2021 16” Macbook Pro w/ M1 Max 10c cpu /24c gpu, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, macOS Sequoia 15.1 2018 11" iPad Pro w/ A12X cpu/gpu, 256 GB, iPadOS 18.
Staff MattP Posted February 25, 2015 Staff Share Posted February 25, 2015 I need to 'see' the output from the Wacom driver to the OS though - not from the tablet itself to the computer :( It's fine - I'll sort it out, but it's just yet another 'oddity' in the list of things that you need to figure out to make Wacom tablets work as you expect... I still find it pretty poor that they don't send the real gestures to OS X and instead give them out as mouse wheel scrolls and modifier keys... Yes that works, but it's a poor way of doing it and is the reason why nothing but Adobe apps ever work properly (because they're the only things they test when they make a new Wacom driver!) If they just produced system gestures from the driver then everything would work in all programs and it would just be better... we can dream, hey? ;)
ronnyb
Oh I see.... What about those hidden software Keystroke loggers they use for "security" (spying) on users.... Don't they capture all "clicks"? Too bad Wacom doesn't have the type of Dev support and access you guys have....
