Malcolm Hay Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 When I open a CR2 raw file in AP 1.6 windows version the images have badly vignetted corners. These corner shadows are not present when I open the images in a photo browsing program. In AP develop persona I apply the corrections I want then export the image as a TIFF file. The Tiff file then has the vignette saved as well, which I do not want. I have changed the develop assistant/ lens corrections to take no action. This did not help. Any further suggestions.? Quote

Malcolm Hay Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 The camera I used is a Canon G5x. It only happens when I use the camera at the 24mm wide angle end of the zoom. I am editing the photos right now so I have to crop out the dark corners. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted April 12, 2018 Staff Posted April 12, 2018 Hi @Malcolm Hay, Can you please attach a raw file so we can have a look? Thanks, Gabe. Quote
Malcolm Hay Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Here is one of the photos taken with the Canon G5x. The vignetting will probably only show when opened in AP 1.6. IMG_1155.CR2 Quote
Staff Gabe Posted April 12, 2018 Staff Posted April 12, 2018 Thanks for the sample. Sadly your lens is not on the supported list . So, any lens correction will not be automatically applied. I'm afraid you will have to manually adjust the Lens distortion in the developing persona>Lens Tab. I found it looking Ok with Distortion: -60 and Scale +136. IMG_1155.tiff Malcolm Hay 1 Quote
Malcolm Hay Posted April 13, 2018 Author Posted April 13, 2018 Thanks for that. It does work, it not only fixes the vignette problem but also corrects the distortion. It is an inconvenience having to manually put that in each time. No worse than having to crop I guess. Do you think a lens correction profile will be provided by by Affinity?. Thanks for the fast response. Quote
Gnobelix Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Hello Malcolm, Maybe you know it But if you have made your corrections, you can save these settings as a preset, so can you some developments automate. Unfortunately will the presets, only in system folders from Affinity-Photo saved. I hope that will change in the future. Malcolm Hay Posted April 13, 2018 Author Posted April 13, 2018 Hi Gnobelix Thank you for your suggestion of saving as a preset. I am new to Affinity Photo and didn't realize that I could do that. I will try it right now. Thanks again. Cheers Gnobelix 1 Quote
Gnobelix Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Hello Malcolm, no problem Of course, I can only speculate, but I think the serif will create more lens profiles. cheers Quote Affinity Photo 2.5: Affinity Photo 1.10.6: Affinity Designer 2.5: Affinity Designer 1.10.6: Affinity Publisher 2.5: Affinity Publisher 1.10.6: Windows 11 Pro (Version 24H2 Build (26100.2605)
