I think its stored on your cloud or the files app, so you can close it and delete it in your cloud as well. seems like the new version (1.6.7) makes ur files showed on ur ipad work more like tabs on desktop, i think the philosophy behind that is to push u place more files on ur storage since they dont store the history and clear up files saved in photo app. Seems weird to me since they could easily have a workaround with a better file management and an icon showing this file is with history, but i think they’re doing this to open room for DAM integration (fingeres crossed)

The project screen just shows a working copy. You save the work to cloud or local on iPad. Closing removes the working copy from Project screen but doesn’t effect 'saved' copy. As Bigboss suggests, you can delete saved versions from either cloud or local iPad (using the iOS Files app). This is why it was important to actually use the Save prior to closing to ensure you don't lose edits made to working copy. In the new version open in place makes this less of an issue.
