Hope I have posted in right place.

I have used Serif Draw Plus for past 5 years and like it lots, however I also use ArtRage 4 with graphic pad and pondering about upgrading to 5

My questions for the Tech guys and experienced Serif users are as follows.

How does the Affinity program compare with DrawPlus and is it compatible with ArtRage or good enough to stand alone as I like to produce artwork in oils on graphics tab with ArtRage and can obtain stroke patterns and some texture appearance.

Do I need both Artrage and Affinity ?

Thanks all

My needs are different than yours. I'm only a little interested in making digital work look like traditional media. ArtRage does a good job of that, and is simple to use.  But I haven't used ArtRage at all after working w. the Affinity apps. There are some vendors who offer natural like brushes for AD/AP, such as DAUB and Frankentoon. You might look at their websites to see if the offerings are what you might like to use. Affinity's built in brushes are OK, but really just an introduction to what one can do.

ArtRage is "painting", Designer is "drawing", even though he can paint it too.

Definitely not compatible, everyone uses their native format. The only way of exchange and cooperation is through image export.

You can't compare Affinity with Artrage they are different tools...

Its like comparing a hammer to a drill, both of them are tools, both can make holes but they make holes differently.
