Phatman Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Hi,how do I adjust the letter kerning in Photo? I'm editing a PDF and the letters looked a bit cramped. Quote flickr - https://www.flickr.com/photos/s-t-e-v-e/
Grazie Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 (edited) I wouldn't have thought you could edit a PDF in AP? Don’t you need to do it in a PDF Editor? Interesting. But I’m m also interested in Kearning in AP. Edited January 10, 2018 by Grazie Quote
Staff MEB Posted January 10, 2018 Staff Posted January 10, 2018 Hi Phatman, Welcome to Affinity Forums Place the cursor between the characters you want to adjust, press and hold ⌥ (option/alt) and use the arrow keys to adjust the kerning. Alternatively go to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Character to display the Character panel. The kerning is the first control on the top left of the Positioning and Transform section. The Tracking control is immediately below in case you need it. Note: You can also open/access the Character panel pressing the Character button in the context toolbar with one of the text tools selected. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Grazie Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 So I can edit a PDF doco in AF! Is the Kearning available on the iPad Air2? Quote
Staff MEB Posted January 10, 2018 Staff Posted January 10, 2018 Hi Grazie, Yes. Place the cursor between the letter you want to adjust, tap the Text Studio icon (the letter "a" on the righ of the interface) and in the Character section tap Positioning. The kerning is the first control on the top left. Grazie 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Everyday . . Everyday! - This will help me tons. Thanks Phatman. As test, I just created a PDF from a WORD doco and have imported to AF and the Kerning also works in PC too. Quote
mpjohns Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Is it possible to adjust kerning equally for the entire text box? So far, I have only been able to do one at a time. Quote
