Lusus Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 A feature that would really boost the popularity of Affinity would be if users had the ability to develop and share plugins, much like users of Photoshop and Gimp can do. Quote

Lusus Posted January 17, 2018 Author Posted January 17, 2018 Do the Photoshop plugins work in Affinity Designer? Also, I still think its a reasonable point that users of Affinity should be able to create and share their own plugins. Quote

Hello Lusus, there is a list of plugins that work with Affinity Photo for Mac here. And there is a list of plugins that work with Affinity Photo for Windows here. But unfortunately Photoshop plugins do not work with Affinity Designer (to my knowledge). Cheers d. Quote Affinity Suite on Windows (V2) and iPad (V2). Beta testing when available. Hello Pšenda, I agree with you (partially). In my first draft of my answer I had this information, too. But then I realised that Affinity Designer has the Pixel Persona and it has a couple of native adjustment layers that affect vector object the same way as they affect pixel layers. That was the base for my decision not to rule out a future opening for Photoshop plugins completely. I am not an expert on this and would be interested if someone else can chime in. OTOH, it is possible to open an AD document in APh and apply a plugin there as a 'live filter'. Even to a vector object. Amazing d. Quote Affinity Suite on Windows (V2) and iPad (V2). Pšenda Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 The portability of the source files, including all edits and features between apps, is excellent. Keeping it in the Publishers, it will be great. But it is evidently that each application is a "specialist" for a certain kind of workflow, so sharing all the skills across applications is not even expected, and it would not even be reasonable. It is better to have more specialized applications at a reasonable price that everyone buys as needed, rather than one super expensive superapplication. And that makes it more likely that Photoshop plugin support will not come to Affinity Designer. It could be, though, that there will be vector plugin support in AD at some time in the future (this is only my personal assumption and not based on anything I have heard or read). Cheers, d.
